One of the quilts that I made to give on Christmas was the teal and brown quilt for my cousin who turned 16 in October. In 2009, I signed up for a BOM (block of the month for you non-quilters) and as I kept thinking about it, I had a feeling that it would be the perfect quilt for Meghan so I signed up for it twice. I got all of the blocks made last year and then it sat for a while until I realized that the big 16th birthday was in October. I took the pieces to the Quilt Retreat in Shipshewana and had both of the quilts assembled shortly after coming back from retreat. I quilted the quilt a couple of weeks ago and got the binding stitched on in time for Christmas with mom's help.
I call this quilt Celebration. This is Meghan and my niece Claire to her left.
I think she really likes it. She told me later that the colors are 'her' colors and that the quilt fits on her papasan chair. And that it is nice to cuddle up in.
I'm so glad that she likes it!!
