Oh, Crap!

Jen, if an average person should go through 4 ironing board covers in a year, how many irons does a quilter go through in a year?

I ask because the iron that I have used forever and love is on the fritz. The knob to turn it on and off and to increase the temperature is no longer moving freely. As a matter of fact, I can't turn it off with the knob any longer, I just have to unplug it.

I guess what I am saying is that I have to add an iron to my Christmas wish list. The one that I have now is a Black and Decker Quick and Easy 365. I think that I got it at WalMart. I have another iron that is just awful - no steam and hard to iron fabric - I never get good results. I think the second iron was also a WalMart special.

I think I am at the point in the quilting where I shuld upgrade to a Rowenta, although I would be just as happy with a replacement of the Black and Decker 365.

I have a Rowenta that Jen got for me last year and I absolutely love it. It's the best iron that I've ever had.

I absolutely love the sunbeam I got for x-mas last year. It was a wal-mart special about 20-25 bucks. It's gray with a teflon bottom. Even comes with a thing to fill the water. And the cord winds up in it so it's easy to put away.

Mom and I both have the same Rowenta. Honestly though, you don't need a big name iron to have it be a good one. We did get ours at Kohl's (I think you have those). Since they're 50% off periodically I waited until I also had some of those $10 coupons!
