Final Star and Nine patch class

Last night was the last class for my Star and Nine Patch quilt at Best Friends. I had my blocks assembled, but I didn't have them sewn into the rows or the center part of the top. I needed to go to the class anyway because the quilt pattern calls for mitered corners and this is something that I needed to learn how to do. I really shouldn't have worried about not having my blocks all sewn together. The other 2 ladies who showed up for class didn't have theirs sewn together either. I asked if I could take pictures of their quilts to show you gals and they agreed.

This one was mostly greens and purples with the neutral background. It's very pretty.

This one, the lady had all of her blocks finished at the last class, but she admitted that she hadn't touched it since the last class. She was still working on her setting triangles and the pieced border. Her fabrics are batiks.

At the last class, we had helped her pick out her fabric for her borders.

When class was almost over, Jan mentioned something about the new Flintstones fabric that came in. I perked right up and then she mentioned that there was also Tom and Jerry fabric and that it was going to be made for quilt shops only and not for JoAnn or Hancock stores. She showed me the fabric and said that I could post pictures of it on my blog.

Isn't it great? Now, I have to think about what I will do with it and how much I would need. I am not sure if Spencer knows about Tom and Jerry or the Flintstones, but I can totally see making him pajama pants. Although, I might have to make myself some pajama pants!

I'll definitely be looking for the Tom and Jerry fabric for matching pants for the entire family.

I love the quilts, and I'll have to think of SOMETHING to do with the Flintstones fabric. I watched them all the time when I was a kid. I didn't get as much of a kick out of Tom and Jerry, but anyway..........WILLLLLLLLLMMAAAA!!
