FNSI - 7/23/10

TONIGHT is the Friday Night Sew In for July. I thought it was LAST week! You still have time to sign up, just go here.

I spent some time last night pressing the border fabric for Jitterbug so that I can cut it and start sewing it on tonight. I also figured out what to use for the binding and that will be cut tonight. And the leftover blocks and fabric from the line will be used for a scrappy backing. This will be my first time making a scrappy backing, but I really hope that I have enough of the fabric to make the backing. I think that the quilt is going to end up at just under 100" x 110". It will definitely fit on my bed!!

I think that I am going to try and cut out the other neighbor's quilt, too. I need to use the pattern and figure out what I need to cut from yardage because it is written for layer cakes.

I think that while I am cutting, I will cut the fabric for the International Giveaway prizes. I have been meaning to cut them out over the last few weeks, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Speaking of the Giveaways, I really didn't want to mention again about the No Reply commenters, but I have had several ask me to let them know if they are No Reply. Ummmm..... If you are No Reply, that means that you do not have your email set to public. If your email is not set to public, the email that is sent to blog owners is from "" which means I have no way to reply to let you know that you are no reply. Info here on how to change it or leave your email in the comment.

Of course, if I have your email and I already email you or we are friends on Facebook, then you don't need to worry about this because I know who you are and can find you whenever I want! :)

I really enjoy getting comments and responding and getting to know my readers. I have had a lot of new commenters in the last month and found new blogs to read and have been having fun getting to know new to me quilters! I like to be able to answer questions that are asked in comments, but I don't usually answer the questions in a separate post for no reply people.

For the giveaways, I am responding to every comment that is left that I can. If you haven't heard from me or don't hear from me, this is why.

And for the rest of you, THIS IS the last time that I will blog about this! I promise!!!

I just figured that you were spending a friday night sewing! One time I asked Kristie (cowgirl quilter)if she was doing FNSI. She said that she sews every Friday night!! Wonder what happened to her? I loved her blog.

Enjoy your Friday Night Sew In!

I wish I had time tonight to join the FNSI. But hubby is working tonight and someone needs to be in charge of the little one! I may sneak in some sewing after she goes to bed but making no promises there!

Wow! 100" X 110", I have never made anything that big. Being a hand quilter, it would take me forever to get it quilted. LOL I have been piecing backs too. Fabric costs to much to not use what I have. I sew every Friday night, anyway. My hubby doesn't get home till 11 p.m. So my evenings are spent sewing and quilting. Have a good day.Winona

Good luck piecing the backs...I have done a couple and it is a lot of work! You'll like it when it is done though. Thanks for the post on FNSI - I am joining along too!

In this posting, I'm reading that you try to reply to each comment. NOW I feel REALLY guilty for waiting for the last minute to leave all these comments. I didn't realize there was more than one giveaway. So does my guilt of leaving too many comments outweigh entering the giveaways...ah....maybe? But I'm over it now :) The doggies can answer your emails and reply to comments for a while!
