Panto Practice

I only got one pass on this quilt last night before I gave up and spent the evening knitting and watching TV. Today, I was finally able to get it done while working simultaneously on the laundry (washing and drying, not folding, of course!) and it felt like it took forever!!

How does it look?

Hard to see? How about now? The back is a flannel from Joann's. This will definitely be a Project Linus quilt.

And a couple of close ups. The panto is clovers and came in a pack from Golden Threads of Simple and Easy Pantos. I got a couple of packets of these pantos - one actually came with the quilting frame set up when I bought it. The only issue is that all of them are around 3" and while I don't have a lot of quilting space, things would go a whole lot quicker with a larger panto. I may try and see about enlarging them a little.

I also had some issues with the track towards the middle of my table. It seems that the carriage may have done some damage to the track and it makes it very hard to maneuver and follow the panto.

Maisy spent most of the day with me in the basement. It really wore her out!!

Nice looking pantograph. It is hard to find one that is just the right size for your set up so that it uses up all of the available space. I have a package from Golden Threads as well, it is a nice way to try out lots of different patterns to get a feel for what works for you.

I think it looks great - but definitely stretch it to the biggest panto you can do b/c it will go alot faster!

Well, since you mentioned Golden Threads, this probably isn't a new site to you (http://www.goldenthreads.com). But I love that it separates the pantographs into the different size ranges!

Glad that floating the quilts is working for you ;0)

Your clovers turned out fine. Practice, Practice, Practice! I like the larger pantos too.

Looks great! I really like Golden Threads but I didn't know they had packages...I'll have to check further with them. Thanks for the tip.

You really shouldn't work Maisy so hard. Poor thing!
