Things were moving along swimmingly for the week until they hit a snag last night. The minutes from the last Home Owner's Association board meeting were distributed yesterday and there were some comments about yard work and clean up that didn't sit well with me. Apparently, the Board thinks it is appropriate to make decisions for all the homeowners with deadlines that need to be met or else the work will be done and the homeowners will be charged. This is all fine and good, but you can not enforce the deadline dates if you happen to notify the homeowners 4 weeks after the deadline has passed. :-( After texting with my neighbor with the computer skillz, we decided to work on some clean up last night. We spent a little over an hour hauling tree branches that he cut down from the back of our units to the dumpster. We also hauled out some moldy old firewood. A few trips to the dumpster and multiple bug bites later, I was able to retreat to my condo for a bit of rest. I wish that I had been able to take a couple of before pictures of the area because the little cleanup that we have done so far has made a tremendous difference!
Once I got inside and cleaned up, I was scrambling to get something done on my task list! Amy updated my list for what needs to be done through next Monday so I was able to pick something from Friday night's tasks to work on since there was no way that I was going to be able to work on binding or quilting. I was able to spend about an hour on EQ7 and the Super Secret Quilt blocks that were not drawing out correctly. Once I change a couple of settings, I am able to get them drawn perfectly. I only have 1 block left to redraw tonight! Woo hoo!!
Wednesday night, I was able to get all of the strip sets cut into blocks and I laid out a few rows to see how it is going to look. I LOVE it!!! Once I am able to get them all sewn together, I will let you know what the book is called that the pattern is from. I don't think that I have shared that yet. It's a really neat book with great patterns, but I can't think of what the name is right now!
And for those of you who think that they need to be "Amy'd," you will be happy to know that she is willing to offer her services! Here is her comment on my last post!! Amy - "You're welcome dear Jill! Hopefully you're making some progress on TONIGHT'S assignment! And for everyone else, let me know if you'd like me to harass, I mean ENCOURAGE you....depending on where you live I may also make house calls! lol" Feel free to contact her and let her know that I sent you!! lol
Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope that you all have a great weekend and get all of your 'tasks' complete! Wish me luck on mine!! ;)

What the heck, doesn't the HOA know that you have tasks to complete, or you're going to get in trouble?!?!?!
Hope you're working on tonight's tasks!!!
THAT REALLY SUCHS THEY GIVE YOU THE INFO AFTER THE FACT. BUT ISN'T THAT HOW SOME GOVERNMENTS WORK. LOL. LOVE THE QUILT YOU ARE WORKING ON SO FAR. I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT FINISHED AND TO FIND OUT THE NAME OF IT AND THE BOOK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I HAVE 2 TRIANGLES TO SEW ON THE LAST BLOCK THEN I CAN SEW THE LAST LARGE BLOCKS TOGETHER TO MAKE THE LAST 2 STRIPS. THEN SEW ALL THREE STRIPS TOGETHER. THEN BOARDERS. THAT WILL COMPLETE THE TOP
Wanna come work on my yard too? Just kidding ;) The top looks smashing!
