A few of the gals in the Tran-Quilt-Ity yahoo group got together for a pin cushion swap. The swaps had to be mailed by 9/30, but I wanted Becca receive mine before 10/1 because I made a similar pin cushion for the Fall Into Fall giveaway and I didn't want to ruin her surprise.
Here is the pin cushion I made for her. Her favorite color is Lime Green. :)
I also sent her some goodies, but I forgot to get a picture of them. I included a green seam ripper, green pins and a lime green smooshie dude with 'hair' and eyes. I really wish I had remembered a picture. :( I'm hoping that Becca will post some soon. :)
And here is what I received from Cheryl. A black doxie cushion and a begging dog figurine! :)
The dog is working wonderfully on my sock monkey thread catcher that was a little light on the stuffing and slides off the table when it's too full. :)
Cheryl included a note in the box that said I could embellish the dog as I saw fit and I think that the only thing that it needs is a sparkly eye. I haven't added it yet.
Thanks, Cheryl, for the goodies and thanks to Becca for hosting the swap!
The dogs were pretty pleased with it when I let them sniff it. They got along great - no snapping at each other! lol
Although, I think that Maxie wanted it to take a nap with him.

WOW!!! That is really cute!! I like the one that you made also! Ya'll both did amazing jobs!
Such a cute pincushion! Reminds me of Amish Friendship bread! Love how you used the doggie cushion too! Cute and useful!
GREAT IDEA ON HOW TO USE THE DOGGIE AS AN EXTRA WEIGHT. LOVE THE PIC OF YOUR BABY. IT'S GOOD THAT YOUR PUPS ACCEPTED THE NEW DOGS IN THE HOUSE. . . LOL...LOVE THE LIME GREEN CUSHION
Jill forgot to mention that my 'pin cushion' was really a kit for her to finish (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). I was thrilled to draw her name and had so much fun searching for a doxie pattern. My bad is that I am not 'into' hand work.
I didn't know what to use as a stuffing so I used shot gun BB's. I like the weight and am please that she can find a use in her sewing room.
I hope to raw edge embrodiery a few of the pups in scrappy fabrics and make my mom a couple of pot holders for out at the lake.
be good- love cheryl
I bet the dogs were eyeing up that pin cushion!
Very cute pincushion! Are they as hard to make as they look?
