New friend

Here is a new "friend" that was made in Florida. You can see in this first picture just how close it is. I went to the farthest corner of the fenced in yard to take the picture.

He is just at the next lot sunning himself in the water.

Here he is zoomed in a bit.

My brother caught a baby when he was here fishing some time ago.

My biggest worry about bringing the dogs with me for the visit was that Max would get loose and run along the water where he wasn't supposed to. Well, he got out Thursday, but was smart enough to stay a good distance from the water. Thank God!

OH WOW! Being a northerner myself, this would kinda freak me out!! AND, having a relatively small dog (as you do).....*shudder*.....

{{ya think the Floridians are giggling at us Northerners???}}

OH! Almost forgot.....

when I read your blog title (KNOWING you were in Florida)....I was hoping for quite a different looking picture....

AND as I was waiting for the pictures to load, I read..."he was just sitting there, sunning himself..."

Well....I'm sure you can imagine the picture I was HOPING to see ;0)

Yikes too close! Wonder how many small pets become his supper?? I would be scared all the time! Bet you dont see many cats roaming around. We have a problem with coyotes here and you hardly ever see stray cats anymore:(
Lock those puppies up!!

It certainly is a very big concern here in Florida. My niece had a dog that went missing, and after about a week the alligator surfaced, so we feel rather certain that the dog was his lunch :-(

Scary! I'm glad Max had enough doggie sense to stay away from the water.

Yikes... They fascinate me, but from afar... definitely from afar.

Enjoy the rest of your vacay! Missed ya today at the sew-in.

Oooh, I forgot about those kinds of friends. When we lived south of Houston, some of his distant buddies would cruse the drainage canals. Glad Max was a smart doggie!

Oh not me! Max better be smart. We just don't see those kind of things in South Dakota.

Between those "friends" and the Panther warning signs we saw on the way from the airport, I was a always on "the lookout" this week on Marco Island. Hope you enjoyed your vacation as much as we did.
