The finished bathroom!

Well, it's finished for now. I have come up with a couple more things that I want to do, but I can't do them just yet for several reasons.

The brown in this towel is the color that I want to use for the towels for now. I went to Kohl's last night, but I couldn't find the color to match. I am going to head to Bed, Bath and Beyond at some point to get a set of towels for when guests stay so that it can look all pretty! This picture is taken from the master bedroom (soon to be sewing Studio).

This is also taken from the Master. The door next to the shower leads into the hallway and the door next to that door is the closet.

Don't mind the fuzz hanging off the light fixture. lol I just wanted to show off the fixture because I really like it. I had to turn it off for the picture though.

This picture is from the hall doorway and shows the door to the master. You can see that the light switches and outlets are the dingy beige and quite an eyesore. I want to have them all switched out with white. So far, only the kitchen has been switched out. My neighbor is going to show me how to replace them so that I can do it myself.

And this is of the doors to the master bedroom and the bathroom closet. There is just enough room between the closet and the hall door for this decorative shelf unit. It didn't come with any hardware though and I am afraid to hang it up incorrectly and have it fall so I am going to wait for help on this as well. I really like how it looks with the color of the towel.

More detail of the shelf. I have had this for around 8 years waiting for the bathroom to be finished. :)

The only other things that I want to do are have white doors installed to match the trim. For some reason, when the condos were built, they had stained trim throughout and these brown doors. The trim was pretty gross when I moved in with a lot of spots that you can tell were not installed properly - major gaps between the trim and the walls in quite a few spots. I decided to have it all replaced with white trim whenever I replace the carpet. I think that when the doors are replaced and the door frames are painted white, the bathroom is going to look sharp!

Of course, now that I have the room painted, I have come up with a long term plan for the closet door. The doors to the closet and the master bedroom get their handles locked occasionally and it's bothersome. I want to have the door to the closet taken off and put nicer shelves in the closet so that it can be an open space. Eventually....

So that's my new bathroom. I really love the color and how it looks with the marble in the shower and against the white trim! I feel like it's almost a new bathroom again!

It looks awesome! I love it! You should be able to match towels at BB&B, they have so many to choose from.

What are you planning on putting on that decorative shelf? I love how it fits perfectly between the two doors.

Great job! Now, I need to plan another trip up to visit so I can see it in person!! :-)

Jill it looks so great, It will look better when you change out the fixtures. It isnt hard to do at all. What do you plan on putting on your little shelves? You might find the towels at bed bath and beyond. Have you tried Meijer? They get new colors in very few months.

Oh yea, if you dont find the shade of brown you want, there are several shades of green that look great with lavender. Just a suggestion until later on when new colors of towels come out again. Like I said before everywhere changes the colors every few months with the seasons.

What a pretty color. All the finishing touches are looking very sharp. It is amazing how many steps there are in a single project. Reminds me a little of making a quilt, not as simple as it seems.

Amazing what a coat of paint (and a "few" other touches) does for the morale! At 42, do you think I qualify for one?

Very nice! Good job! Of course I love the paint color, being in the purple family and all lol. It looks very close to one of the shades I used in my master bedroom/sewing studio. Which reminds me, I never did post pics on my blog of the finished room. Oops.

Awwwww...I love it! Looks very nice! Your light fixture looks a lot like the one that I bought for the 3rd bath, which is still in the box! LOL! I'm sur you are glad to have that part finished.
