Quick update!

I am giving up on painting for the night and I thought I would post a quick update.

Yesterday, I got the entire ceiling painted with 2 coats and just about gave myself a heat stroke. It was HOT in the small room in the afternoon with the sun shining in. And I had to turn the ceiling fan off to paint around it. I dropped to the floor once the fan was back on to cool off and I just couldn't get cool enough. I finally got the rest of the ceiling painted and quickly cleaned up and then crashed with the dogs for a 2.5 hour nap.

As soon as I woke up, I was very sore. I have been popping Advil to help with the soreness and today I used some muscle pain cream which helped a lot as did the mid afternoon nap!

I decided today that I would take things easy until it cooled off in the room. I just got done with cutting in on the walls with the first coat of paint on everything except where the walls meet the ceiling. I even pulled everything out of the closet to paint in there. Tomorrow, I hope to finish cutting everything in with 2 coats and then paint. I wasn't too sure about the color, but I think it is growing on me.

That or I am just happy to be getting rid of the nastiness that is the walls!

All things considered, I don't think that I will have all of the furniture moved into the room by the end of the weekend. But I think that I will be able to move it in piece by piece next week after work. And I was hoping to get the big bedroom in shape to paint next weekend, but I might push that off another week. Time will tell.

Hopefully, I will have pictures tomorrow!

You are almost done with the worst of it. The results will be soo worth it. I am especially impressed that you are also painting the closet. I always skip that part. Can't wait to see the finished project.

Take a well-needed break. You've been working so hard... I can't wait to see it all done!

I can sympathize...I think. I used to love painting when I was younger and started the family; now I don't. Reading about your endeavors is reconciling my non-love for painting.

Your "dropped to the floor to cool off" comment put a smile on my face because THAT is also very understood around the entire nation. Man, this heat wave/full sun has been tough this summer!

Taking a week off would not make me think any less of you Jill! ;0)

You're making me tired with all this painting. But I'm sure it is all looking pretty awesome.

It has been very hot, but sounds like you are in the home stretch now. I really don't like painting ceilings at all!

Take it easy and have a wonderful day

Painting is hard work! And when you are as short as we are those ceilings are a stretch even with a ladder. Don't over do it and defintely take the advil -- can't wait to see the finish room!
