Saturday Sew In

Yesterday, I went to a Sew In for the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild. The plan was to spend a couple of hours sewing charity quilts and then the rest of the time working on your own projects. I didn't want to drag my sewing machine along so I took a fleece blanket that just needs a crocheted edge and I helped the others by pressing and cutting pieces for their kits.

Once the charity sewing was finished, I worked on cutting out some pieces for the bug jar quilt. I worked next to Heather who was still working on the charity quilt.

Here is the rest of the room. We sewed at the Centennial Barn in Cincinnati and it is such a nice and spacious workspace!

But this is about as far as I got with the cutting. I just wasn't in the mood, I guess. I did help Heather pin baste a quilt that she is working on.

It was so nice to spend an afternoon with quilting pals and it was very nice for me to be among the land of quilting since I have been away for so long with the home renovations. :)

I do love sewing with friends...or even just hanging out while friends sew..or talking sewing with friends!

I'm sorry I missed it. But hubby wanted some couple time. It was well-needed. I'm glad you had fun!

Quilting time with friends is the best - even when we don't 'accomplish' much!

You have just inspired me to do 'sewing saturdays' at my house this year!! Well, winter anyway.... I think that would be fun!! Now, will I actully do it, or is it just a fantasic idea with no follow through???!! lol!! But I love that you helped other people because I have had sewing days like that - I want to be there, but don't really want to be sewing!!! Have a great week!!

Hmmm, you've been away from sewing so long. Hopefully you get your sewing mojo back.
