Book Review Thursday - 12/1

I am caught up on my reviews!

The Unbidden Truth by Kate Wilhelm is the 8th book in the Barbara Holloway series. (If you want to know the order of the books, check out the author's page on the Stop It You're Killing Me site. I *love* this site!) In this novel, Barbara is hired by Louise to defend Carol Fredricks, a young pianist accused of murdering her boss. As usual, there is more to the story than what you see at first glance and soon, Barbara is investigating the deaths of Carol's parents when she was 8 years old.

This is another solid novel in the series! Wilhelm continually creates characters and story lines that draw the reader in. And the descriptions of the weather in Eugene, OR makes me want to visit in every season!

And I read the next Stephanie Plum novel, Smokin' Seventeen, by Janet Evanovich. I reviewed the 16th book here and this one is really no different except the length of the book was only 5 discs as opposed to the usual 7 or 8. In this installment, the bail bonds office is being rebuilt and in the process of removing the debris from the bomb in book 16, the workers find a body or two. As the book goes on, there are more bodies dumped at the site with notes attached that say, "For Stephanie." Can Stephanie find the murder before he finds her?

Same things, different book - Ranger, Morelli, Granma Mazor, Lula on a diet, bonds enforcement blunders and car issues. It's a good thing that the books are humorous!
