With these suggestions, Maddy and I went to the shop to pick out our fabrics when they were having an inventory clearance sale. Unfortunately, the store was packed and we were fighting to find fabrics that worked. I picked 4 lights and 4 darks and tried to stick to a burgundy and green theme. We enjoyed the class and learned how to stack and whack. I actually liked that process! And the quilt is going together nicely, but I am still not crazy about it. At least it will be easy to quilt - with the busy fabric, the author only quilted in straight lines from side to side and up and down.
This first picture is of the rows that I have assembled. I still have 2 rows left to put together and then I have to sew all the rows together. But I was told by my small group from Guild that I should be documenting my progress with each project. I am not sure what I will do with all the pics I will be taking, but at least I will have them. :)
This picture is of my little helper, Maisy. The dogs usually sit on my bed and look out the window while I sew, but Maisy got restless. I don't have a quilt wall to throw my quilts up yet, so I lay them out on the floor and then stand on my bed to get a better, farther away picture. It is very hard to keep the dogs off the fabric while I try to climb on the bed and I have to keep straightening out the fabric to get good pics!

Your quilt is looking very nice. I think sometimes it is better to change things to your taste. You have done a wonderful job on it. Your little Maisy looks identical to my little Agnus. I will have to post a photo of her later. She has an eye disease and she is blind in one eye. The vet said that there was nothing that could be done. We also have a basset hound named Fred. They are best friends and he takes care of her. Kristie

Giggle, what do you mean, what will you do with all of your progress pictures...post them here of course!!! Have you seen all the stupid little pictures I've uploaded of my quilts? Giggle. If they're not a picture that I need to keep, then I just delete them off my computer or camera once I've uploaded them to webshots.

I forgot to comment about your quilt. Sigh. Smack me upside the head. I like your fabrics. I think I would have cringed at the class too. Your fabrics are pretty, the pattern just does nothing for them which is unfortunate. =( I've never flipped through this book, I'll have to take a look next time I see a copy to see what it's all about. Are there other good patterns in it?

Haha I usually lay my quilts out on the bed and stand in the door.. Lilly always has to sit on them.
