Wagon Wheel pieces and Busy Sunday

I have been up since 5:45 this morning. I am pooped!! I got up to work at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Sawyer Point on the Ohio River this morning. We got some really nice long sleeve shirts for volunteering and it was surprisingly cool this morning and Amy, Lynn and I all had layers and fleeces on. And there were so many people who had pink on - it was neat to see how everyone used the color on everything from hats to dog clothing to face paint.

After we worked at the walk, we drove to a Bob Evans for breakfast and then headed to the Channel 9 Studios for the St Jude Dream Home Giveaway. We worked the phones and sold tickets while the newscasters did the show and interviewed patients. the show was from 1-3 with the drawings for the prizes starting at around 2:35. The drawing for the house was limited to 10,000 tickets to sell. We sold the last ticket at 2:15!! After that, the volunteers were pretty bored with watching the newscasters and interviews of the vendors who made donations for the prizes. Then the drawing. Here is a link to the winner going into the house.

After I left the giveaway, I took the dogs to a local vet for the shot clinic and was there for way too long!! They had relatively inexpensive exams so I had both of the dogs examined and they got their shots, but it took longer than an hour sitting in a very warm exam room! And then both dogs, well, mostly Maisy, were upset with me for putting them through that.

Once all of that was done, I finally got sew and worked a lot of my pieces done last night and tonight. It took quite a while, but I don't have too much left to do tomorrow to prepare for the class. Hopefully, I can get the rest done tomorrow night for the class on Tuesday! Here are pictures of where I was at when I stopped tonight:

Sounds like you had a very busy day. It's always a good feeling to be ready for a class and be prepared.

You've got to bring that wagon wheel quilt along when you come up. I'd love to see it in person! Oh, and one of your big shirts too. =)

I can't wait!!!
