Am still slacking here....

Saturday night and what am I doing? Relaxing after a long day of volunteering, car shopping, and playing with the kids!

The last couple of days at work have been really busy. I was trying to get all caught up and to finish my month end stuff before the end of the month. That meant putting in some long days at work. But things finally let up a little by Friday and I was home by 7. I was finally able to deal with the mail that I had been neglecting and the kitchen that was a bit of a mess. :)

This morning, I got up and met Amy to work at Crayons 2 Computers. I was a little worried that they might have us doing some more physical labor than I might be able to handle, but they whisked us back to the conference room and we played with stickers all morning. They get some plastic trays delivered from an auto maker and they make use of them in different ways. This morning, we had to put stickers on the trays and matching stickers on little knobs that fit onto the tray. We spent 2 and a half hours stickering and catching up with each other. It was nice and relaxing.

After playing with the stickers, I drove out to the shop to see if my Bubba was ready. I took him in last Saturday for a 6 month cleaning and they said that he would be back today. He wasn't ready yet. So I probably won't be able to get him until next Saturday because they are not open any late nights during the week and the shop is not close to work. This will give me another week to prepare things to sew once I get him back. I have not even touched the material that I bought last week and washed so that I could cut them up for pants and pillowcases.

After the shop, I got home and showered and waited for Ryan to call to say that Claire was done cheering and they were ready to meet me. Once he called, I drove to meet them and we began our test driving. I think I will blog about the test driving in a separate post. It might be a long one. After the test driving, we stopped and picked up some kidney beans and cheese and ran back to Nikki and Ryan's house and finished making the chili. The kids were excited to see me. I ran over to Ethan and tried to get him to run to me so I could pick him up but he ran away. I had to get him and show him that I could pick him up now. He got so tickled when I showed him! The chili was awesome and the kids were good so it was a great night. I think I overdid it with the kids though because I am sore and ready for my cream and medicine!

I also talked to DV2 today on the phone. He was excited about the car. Also, he has a 2nd in person interview on Tuesday for the job that he applied for a few weeks ago. And it is closer to Cincinnati. I am not sure if I mentioned that before, but I am happy about that. He seems to be very excited about the job and that is good, too. I also told him that I probably won't be going to Milwaukee next weekend after all because of the accident and car situation. And I hinted pretty heavily that I didn't have any plans for the weekend so far. I think he got the hint even before I flat out said that it was a hint. :) I will have to see how long it takes for him to ask to see me or to go out again.

Now, I am off to watch some of my Tivo and to catch up on other blogs. I haven't been reading all of the blogs this week and I know that the ones that I have read, I haven't made much of an effort to post comments. I am a bad blog-friend!

You're not a slacker. Sometimes life gets in the way of our sewing and we all understand that. It sounds like you had a really busy day and had lots of fun. It's always good to get together with family. I enjoy the time I spend with Jen, Mike and Holly so much. It's sad to think you won't be able to come here next weekend but we'll just schedule another weekend when you can come. Good luck on the car shopping.
