Yippee!!

I finally practiced a bit on my free motion quilting today! It looks a bit jerky in some parts, but overall, I am starting to get the hang of it. I am not sure that I will be ready to do the I Spy quilt for Christmas and make it look really nice, but I don't think that the kids or my sister or BIL will be all that worried about whether it looks jerky or that some of the stitches might be quilted large. I just need to practice a little more and take time to go slow on it. I have a Kid Komfort quilt that I can sandwich and quilt.

Here are the pictures:

And close up - I have a star and hearts and I practiced making the C's for the Storm at Sea quilting.

well done for having a go at free motion. Just remember practise practise practise. I still have jerky stitches once in a while when I don't concentrate.

Great job on your practicing. I need to take the time to practice too. I want to accomplish so many projects though in such a short amount of time.

One of these days I should try this, but since I have my quilting setup, I don't put it as a priority. Good job, Jill!

I think your practice piece is looking good! Drink some wine, relax and just do it. I think you should just jump in on that bug jar and not be hard on yourself. That's what I did with my Grandma's quilt last year. It's far from perfect but who cares; it was a fabulous learning experience!

Looking good! I've finally tried my first time at free form and love the look of it a lot. Do you find that making those swirls sort of becomes addictive after a while and you just want to keep making more and more? I find that my shoulders get tense after about 15 mins.
