Eventful days

I forgot to post about my dental fun on Thursday. I had my teeth cleaned at the beginning of the month and Dr Steve said that there was some discoloration on both of my upper backmost molars so he wanted to clean out the old fillings and sealants and put in new fillings. A few years ago, I had a cavity that went through my sealant on a lower molar and when the dentist finally figured it out after a couple of visits, it took 3 shots with the last shot going directly into the cavity (BIG OUCH!!!) to numb the tooth for the drilling. So, I was nervous on Thursday.

I got there a little early and ended up waiting for about 10 minutes before Dr Steve came in and gave me the shots. Then, we waited 7 minutes for the numbing to kick in and he came back and started drilling on one side. All was fine. He went to the other side and it started out OK. Then, he hit the back part of the tooth and I jumped. Dr Steve felt so bad and kept saying that it startled all three of us and he gave me another shot. That one worked and they were able to clean me up.

For the rest of Thursday, my jaw was sore from the shots and I eating breakfast and lunch. Thursday is pancake day at work and I had a tough time enjoying them. Do you know that if your tongue is numb, you can't taste food? And I was having to practically swallow each bit whole because I could barely chew and when I did chew, I kept gnawing on my cheek. My cheek is still sore. :)

So, hopefully, no more cavities for me. **fingers crossed**

Yesterday, I ran errands and cleaned the house up for a Tastefully Simple party last night. I made a batch of amaretto slushies and between me and my guests, we all but killed it! It was great! And the food was wonderful! Now, I have to try and figure out what I am going to get. Some things are not going to be available after the end of this month.

My party person was Tara and she is the niece of one of my co-workers. She was great fun and by the end of the night, we were trading eHarmony horror stories. She feels about the same way that I do about the site - Total Waste of Money!

Today, I plan on working on my stash pot pie quilt and hopefully getting all of the blocks assembled. If all works out, I will be able to lay all of the blocks out to start sewing rows together.

Oh, and since I had company last night, the poor man's design wall came down. A couple of people were disappointed because they wanted to see it. :)

I have also received a couple more packages of donations, but my camera wasn't readily available before I took everything to the basement while I was cleaning so I will have to get pictures of the new stuff before I can post it. Let me just say that I am very excited about what came yesterday from Dawn Ramirez!!

Ugh--dental work--I am just cringing in sympathy for you! I have a wisdom tooth coming in (yes, I'm nearly 44 and this dumb tooth is coming in)--it's driving me nuts but I am a chicken about even considering having it removed. Hope you are feeling much better now!

Hope you are feeling better by now. I hate dentists. Glad you enjoyed your TS party. One of my bridesmaids is a dealer, so I order from her and she sent me a couple things for my birthday.
