Just call me Grace

When I leave my office, I have to walk out of the building, across a street, up a small incline, through the Hope Lodge parking lot, through a gate and then I get to the parking lot where my car is parked.

On Friday, we had gotten some snow overnight so I wore jeans and gym shoes into work and changed when I got there and then I changed for the ride home just so that I would be more comfortable in case it was a long drive. It warmed up throughout the day so there was a lot of water and run off.

I got into the Hope Lodge parking lot and was making my way through the lot towards the gate. I just had to get past the dumpster to get to the gate. Well, just before the dumpster there are 3 parking spaces. I guess I wandered too far into the spaces and there was still some slick spots. I took a step with my left foot and ended up sliding to the ground along the entire left side of my body. In the water. My first thought was, God, I hope no one saw that! My second thought was, And I didn't spill my water! Alcoholics everywhere would be so proud!

Needless to say, since it was hovering around freezing, if even that, I was cold! My jeans were soaked and my coat was dripping and I had to go and get into my brand new car wet! I ended up sitting on my pants that I had worn all day and then putting my coat to drip in the floor in the back seat.

Now, my back is sore from the fall. At least I can move around and it is definitely not as bad as the chest pains I had after the accident. But my ego is quite bruised!

Sorry you fell. The best perscription for a bruised ego is..........fabric! Yep, fabric. Fondle it, sew it, buy it....it'll make you feel all better in the morning. If not, take two aspirins and call me in the morning.....
Seriously, I hope you are ok. Take care...

Isn't it crazy how we all look around after something like your fall and hope no one saw it?! Glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly.

Jill, I'm glad you're ok!! That sounds like something that would happen to me.

Dear Anonymous, You said it yourself about being dumb...the way you are using 'your' should be spelled "you're" which is You are. If YOU ARE going to be dumb. I guess anonymous is the dummy here.
