Yesterday was a great day! I was able to get a lot of work done at work. I am still behind, but making progress on catching up. And I was at a good stopping point and left at 4. I was hoping to leave by 3, but 4 was still OK. On my way home, I stopped at WalMart and got some supplies for the weekend - Pringles, cereal, molefoam (for keeping my accurate 1/4 seam) - and I picked up a gooseneck lamp to try and attach to Lenny the frame so that I can see what Squiggy the machine is doing on the fabric. I haven't tried it out yet so I am not sure how well it will clip onto the frame.
When I got home, I ate dinner and then took an hour and a half nap. I have been getting up before 6 all week without the alarm and then staying up too late so I needed to rest a little before sewing last night. I got just enough sleep to get me through 4.5 hours of sewing! Not a bad amount to add for the July Challenge!
This is what I got done:
I think that it looks awesome! Now, I can get the backing and binding at the sale at Best Friends on Saturday and put it on the frame and quilt it this weekend! At this point though, it is done for my UFO Challenge through the Yahoo Group, but I am sure that having something else to do some hand work on will be a good thing!
When I had it laying on the floor, the dogs just had to see what the fuss was about. Then, they wouldn't remove themselves from the quilt top!
I shooed them off and folded the top up and put it sort of out of the way until I went into the other room and could put it up. Then, Maisy had to jump off the bed again and needed a place to rest.
From here, she could keep an eye on me while I was sewing.
Next, I worked on catching up on the $2 a block BOM that I am doing through Best Friends. We only have 3 more months to go!
And here are all of the blocks so far. The finishing kit will be a chocolate brown. I can't wait to put it all together!
Now I need to decide what I am going to work on today... I think that watching the Pajama Quilter is in order no matter what!
