At the shop, I have become known as the Jelly Roll Princess because I am generally the one rolling up the jelly rolls for upcoming shows and sale in the shop. I don’t mind it because I enjoy it more than cutting or folding fat quarters. When the rolls need to be made, I usually go to the shop and have stacks of 8.5” strips of fabric laid out in the order that they want them. I run the strips through the AccuCut machine to get the 2.5” strips and make sure that I keep the strips in order. I can usually listen to a book on CD when I am doing this.
For the last run, I started out with fruit and vegetable fabrics and I ‘audited’ a wallet class while I ran them through the AccuCut. By audit, I mean that I had wanted to take the class, but getting paid to listen to the class was a little better so I did that. Then, I packed the strips up and took them home to make the rolls.
I started with this at my house.
And I ended up with these.
I think that they look really cool! I wonder if many sold...
I had to roll more at the last Drive in and Sew, but it makes time pass and I can chat while I roll them. No pictures of those rolls though.
