Monday Happenings

Monday, Linda was coming over to quilt one of her quilts. I knew that I had to straighten up the basement a little from doing my laundry and I needed to test out the machine and frame to make sure the tension was good. I also recently bought 3 pantographs to use on the frame and I wanted to try at least one of them out. So I loaded some muslin and scrap batting and made sure the tension was good - it was! - and I laid out the panto and made a pass.

The muslin shows all of the mistakes, but I think it looks pretty good. A few practice quilts and I should be ready to use it on a real quilt. This was the easiest one that I got. I made another pass and then went to meet Linda at Steak 'N Shake for lunch. When we got back, she tried a pass and then we looked at her quilt for quilting ideas. She decided to wait on quilting it until she decides on how to quilt it so we loaded a Kid Komfort quilt for her to quilt.

Isn't she clever? She quilted several 'moo's in the quilt!

After that, we went back to her house to let her new puppy Maggie out so that I could meet her. Linda also gathered up her sewing machine and a project for her to work on at my house.

Back at my house, we settled in front of the TV to watch "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" and sew. I worked on a wallet and as I was putting the zipper in, my machine went kerplooey. As hard as I tried, I couldn't get it to work again. It definitely put a hamper on me finishing my goals for the weekend.

After the show was over, Linda went home and the ninjas and I watched TV until it was bedtime. All in all, a great way to spend a day off!

Great job on the panto! Did you ever figure out what's wrong with your machine? Hope so! It's almost the weekend again already! Yay!

That sounds like a great way to spend the day!! Besides the machine letting you know you needed a coffee break, it sounded almost perfect to me!!
I hope the machines issue is nothing major, and that you will still be able to get those goals done.
Have a great Thursday and enjoy the weekend!!

I'd like to see how the pantograph works - maybe it's something I could use with my frame.

Your new machine is having issues already????? Pam will get it straightened out for you! That's the beauty of buying locally.

I get my life back tomorrow!!!!

Cathy

I really like the first panto. Can you tell me the name of the design and where you got it? I have a Pfaff and Inspira frame and wonder if it will work with that. I think the widest design I can use is 5". You do a good job. I'm still practicing - a lot! But I'm having fun with it as I know you will too.

Thanks for spending the day with me! We did have a good time, despite your machine snafu. And Cathy's right...bound to be under warranty and Pam will straighten it out for you.

The panto looks great - you'll have to share how you like doing them vs. free motion. I think I am going to venture into panto territory soon...

You've gone to the dark side. I can't post the name I wanna call you.
