Waiting, waiting, waiting

Tomorrow, I head to Indianapolis for the Quilt Show put on by the Guild ... the third Guild I joined! LOL Two of my quilts are being shown and both were judged on Wednesday. I'm anxious to see what the comments from the judges are. I'm anxious to see my quilts hanging up! I'm anxious to see my peeps at the show!

The past couple of days, I haven't had anything pressing to work on except for the dog commission quilt, but I'm having trouble getting excited about it. I think that my lack of large blocks of time is causing a quilting block. That and I would much rather be practicing my knitting!

Tonight, I tried to take a nap when I got home from work, but I was watching NCIS: Los Angeles and it was pretty good and kept my attention so that I couldn't sleep. When I finally started moving again, I decided to look at all of the fabric that I have accumulated for the dog quilt. I think that I really only need to look for a white in my stash and a brown for a dog's face at the show tomorrow. And Sunday, I should be able to get started making the blocks and cutting fabric. Stash busting!! Woo hoo!!!

All right, my little Maxie is staring at me to tell me it's his bedtime so I gotta go. He is awfully demanding when he is tired! LOL

Unfortunately, the picture doesn't show him shaking/shivering like he does because he won't put himself under the blanket where he can't see me. What a goober!

Have fun at the quilt show, and I hope you get raving reviews! I just want to know something, Jill...Why do you want to bust your stash? I have 287,983 pounds of stash, and I don't care if I bust it. I usually can always find something that will work when I need it, and I'm always on the lookout for more. Some people collect coins, some collect piggy banks, some collect teddy bears, and some even collect dead butterflies...but I collect fabric! All that fabric makes me happy! No guilt here! LOL!!! In fact, the girls in our little quilt group all say that they have instructed their husbands, 'If I die first, DON'T TOUCH MY SEWING AND QUILTING STUFF! The quilting girls will come over and take care of it for you. It's theirs!' The funny thing is, we WOULD! We'd be like a bunch of vultures pecking at each other!' It would be total chaos! LOL! (Not really, but we'd take it!)

And Jill...it's ok to take a little break from quilting. Enjoy your knitting. I can't wait to see your new creations.

Have a wonderful, fun day, and remember to enjoy God's blessings!

Good luck at the show!

I think that everyone needs a break from quilting from time to time. I used to sew EVERY single day, then one day I decided that I needed a break. I never turned my sewing machine on for over 6 weeks! I read books constantly during that time. Richard could not figure it out, he even tried to take me to buy fabric! Come to find out, one of his friends told him that he bet that I was having an affair! :) Duh! What that has to do with quilting, I don't know! But I just needed a little break! I do enjoy reading and that is my other hobby. When I started quilting again, I was refreshed and sewed up at storm!!! Enjoy your knitting!!!

You deserve a break (break me off a piece of that KitKat bar!) Have a great time today with the peeps. I just know that you're going to find out wonderful things about your beautiful quilting and see lots of good stuff. Ironically, I didn't go because of work and now I'm too sick to go to work. Grrr!
