Finishes and 799th Post

Well, I got Squiggy, the quilting machine, working again. Or working well enough to quilt the comfort quilt. I got the machine off the frame and brought it upstairs to get a really good look at it and I cleaned out everything that I could see. I ended up taking it back downstairs and loading it onto the frame to see what would happen. Turns out that it was quilting well enough for me to quilt the entire quilt. Yahoo!!

Here is the quilt laying on my bed. Now that it is quilted, I just need to trim it up, attach the binding to the front and mail it off to it's owner!

Sunday, after I was having trouble with the quilting, Max was very nervous so I spent the day doing hand work, watching TV and holding him and Maisy. They were quite happy! I worked on the binding on the Storm at Sea quilt - only have about 36" more to go and then the label. We enjoyed laying under that quilt so it will be nice to have it all finished! I also worked on my granny squares for the afghan. They are coming together very quickly!

And I finished the knitted baby cap. It was very easy to do with the double pointed needles and I'm thinking that I will like this method for making socks!

And I couldn't help this. I would like to introduce you to...

Gansta Max! Isn't he cute?!? ;)

This is my 799th post. I'm thinking that since tomorrow is December and the holidays are upon us, that this isn't the best time for a giveaway. And since I have gotten the last 100 posts up rather quickly that it won't be too long until I get to 1,000. Perhaps I will start making a couple of extra things when I make something - wallets, hot pads, coasters, dish cloths, etc - and all of that would make a really nice giveaway. You can wait a couple or three months for that, right?

The quilt looks nice, Jill! I'm glad you got your machine working. You sure went to town on the knitting, didn't you? Wow! The cap looks nice on Max! LOL!

Yeah, I think we can wait a couple of hundred more posts for a giveaway. This is a busy time of year. No need to make it more hectic.

Have a great Tuesday!

Love the quilt - the combination of blocks and color are awesome. Really love gangsta max in the hat too. Got one word for him: "HOLLLLA!"

Jill - you have to try knitting the sock on the circular needle. Not only that you can be done with a pair in one go but it is so much fun having those yarn all over the place in your hands. Its a real wonder - just need to finish the cuff of that pair of socks I have been knitting.

Holy crap! Double pointed needles already?! I have been trying to make a pair of socks for 2 months. I have been knitting since I was 8...a very long time ago. I end up dropping stitches off double pointed needles no matter what I do. And circular needles? That big loopy piece of plastic makes me crazy. I think maybe I am just too stupid to make socks!

Max looks so darn cute in that hat! Looks like you are doing a great job with your knitting.

Glad that you got your machine working again. I get nervous when I break needles, so afraid that it will mess everything up. The quilt is very pretty, I'm sure the new owner will love it.

Hope cute. Max looks very tough with the cap on, even with the pink in it. The cap turned out really good....better than my "gnome" hat. LOL

Max is hopelessly cute - what a baby!

I'm so glad Sqiggy managed to avoid a trip to the sewing machine hospital.
Hugs,

Hey,Go,
You did a beautiful job on that quilt!! I love the way the patterns go together and of course the colors.

Where did you buy that hat? No way you knitted that already. I'm really impressed. And my granddog looks so sheik. He's just so GQ. Such a handsome boy. He takes after his grandpa!

Love you, Mom

That picture of Max is THE BEST! You need to set that as your profile pic - the RWB quilt in the background really makes it!!! :-)

Everything looks great - so when do I put my sweater order in?!? :-P

I would vote to stay in! It's 14F here, and I am not moving unless I absolutely have to!

tell Max a "gansta" hat is more effective when it's not done in baby pastels! But he's cute!
