I am swimming in fabric!! I have spent the last couple of hours trying to get the last of the main part of my fabric refolded and once I started putting stacks on my shelves I realized that I ran out of room! I have too much fabric!!
I decided that since the scraps and crumbs are sort of at the bottom of the To Do list for now, that I need to concentrate on organizing and working on UFOs so that I can start some new projects and get some of this fabric out of here.
I have stacks of Joann's clearance fabric and flannel backings that have been pre-washed and ready for quilting or tying and binding to be donated to Project Linus. If I could get those stacks out of here, I would be well on my way to the Charity quilt goal and have more room to finish organizing my scraps, crumbs and fabric.
I guess the question that I need to answer is .... if the fabric is ready for quilting having been pre-washed and cut to size, is it considered a UFO? I'm thinking YES! Maybe I should just take the stack into my sweatshop/bedroom and make sure that they are paired up and ready to take to the frame for quilting.
OK, it's way past lunch time and I have 4 beady little eyes looking at me with anticipation of going outside. Guess I better scoot!

Well, while your swimming - get exercise by the way!! - remember to come up for air once in awhile!!!
Have fun finding all the things your forgot you had!! I can feel your brain working overtime on how to put these all together.......hmmmm.... wounder what will be first....... Have fun working on your room!!!
Heh. Nice try on getting more UFO finishes, but I'm not buying it. Backing counts as supplies necessary for finishing UFOs, silly girl!
What a project it is to organize your fabric stash....I've done that a few times but have a project coming up that makes it necessary I do it again so I won't have to buy new fabric. Darn! I'm sure it'll be okay but buying new is always more fun! I know we all have too much fabric! That's what quiltoholics do, acquire more fabric!!! Isn't it fun!
WOW! I only missed the last few days of blog reading and missed lots ;)
Looks like you are missing a new project on your To-Do list....sleepy acres! You know you can't resist starting it :)
HOLLLLLA!
It's your fabric, your house, your game....you get to make the rules! LOL!
love,
Michelle
I'm with Michelle, it's your house and your rules!! I find that if I pair up a backing with the top and have it ready to go, it's easy to throw it on the frame and quilt it. Which I have to do this week!!!
Oh! Hurry up and come on down to my house and fold and organize my fabric!!! Have Fun!

I agree with some of the others...the rules for UFO's are whatever you make them! I know what you mean about running out of room. I am pretty much at capacity for fabric storage and moving to a bigger house isn't an option, or the answer! I just need to use more.
Great post. We sound like we are starting the year off on the same foot! I too am trying to organize my sewing room, but to do so means I need to finish many UFO projects and get them out of the house. Currently working on stacks of flannel quilts for Linus. Almost all ready for machine quilting, so hopefully soon I can get them out of here!
