To tweet or not to tweet...

That is my question today....

I had to set up a twitter account for a giveaway. I was going to just pass on the whole giveaway, but I thought, "what the heck?" and signed up. I was just going to sign up and leave it at that.

But then....

I downloaded the app for my blackberry and I have been looking at it throughout the day. Turns out that I can see updates on Big Brother on the Morty's Twitter site. Woo hoo!!!

I just can't decide whether I should use the account for anything else. I have a Facebook account that I update fairly regularly and games that I play online there. (If you want to be my friend there, just search for my email on Facebook - jillquilts and gmail.)

So I am posing my dilemma to you, readers. Do you tweet? Do you just use Facebook? Neither or both? And why?

Inquiring minds want to know!

No tweeting for me. It helps if you have texting on your phone if you want to tweet and I've got all texting/data blocked on mine.

I FB only and that's rarely as you know. Gem tweets and she loves it. I think it all depends on what you want to say and when.

I FB but no tweeting. Just too much to keep up with. FB, blogs, real job... there is just not enough time in the day!

I don't use either. They are time suckers (in my opinion). I already spend too much time reading blogs. :)

Time suckers indeed!!! I spent waaay too much time on FB and like you, signed up with twitter for the giveaway but don't see myself using it at all. I've been using my timer to cut my computer time down to just a few minutes in the morning and lunch time. And my time is almost up. Have a nice day. :O)

I do both. Signed up for twitter and FB to keep up with my teens. when dd went away to college, I was able to follow her, see her pics, etc. even if she doesn't call every day, I see her tweets & know that she is fine. Confession: I've become addicted. & have noticed many of my blog readers come from my twitter posts!

I too signed up for Twitter for some reason that I can't recall right now, but have never used it. Facebook has been my avenue to keep in touch with kids, nieces and nephews, siblings, and a few distant friends for a few years - just check in daily to see what everybody's doing, and leave an occasional comment or new status. No games on Facebook - that became too addictive for me and quilting is a bad enough addiction LOL. But then, I'm old and don't even use a mobile-phone.

FB=yes
Twitter=no. I passed up the giveaway for the mere reason I DID NOT want another account to "suck" my time away....

FB, yes, even have a fan page, "Little Paula Custom Creations." I don't tweet tho.

I say no to tweeting for so many reasons, many mentioned above. But above all, when I'm out shopping with you, you should be spending your time bonding with me....your favorite frenemie. You are already preoccupied with emails, blog updates, etc. I would start to feel ignored with tweets :(

Besides, I feel that tweeting is even more self-centered than FB. I mean FB you can just check in and see what friends are up to when you feel like looking. With tweets - it's absurd. I mean, why would people care if you are doing laundry or going to the store to buy bread. I mean, really!?! Who is that self-obsorbed (well, I can think of a FEW people we know). And why the heck would I want those updates coming to my phone all day anyway?!?

LOL - I said "I mean" 3 times in that last paragraph!! Funny ha ha!

So, do you know what I MEAN?!?!

ROTFLMAO!!!

I used to Tweet but now my account goes unused and unloved. My biggest problem with it is that ANYONE can read your tweeets. Unlike on facebook (if you use the privacy settings). I am not as good about protecting my privacy as maybe I should be. I post my kids real names and pictures of them on my blog. I post about where I work. Where I've gone. But those are AFTER the fact. Things that I post on FB (like leaving my house unlocked by accident while I'm away on vacation) I may be comfortable with my friends knowing but wouldn't want random people to know. I also found that a few people that I did not add on FB went ahead and started following me on twitter.

No Tweeting for me. Also no Facebook for me. I used to have an account on Facebook, but deleted it. I never liked using it for some reason. I guess we are all different. I love blogging and reading blogs. I love some forums, but Twitter and Facebook, just not for me. Winona

I do not do either. I just do not like being on the comp or who really cares what I am doing all day???? Do you really need to know that I am making spaghetti for dinner tonight (my DD would love that!!!) or that I just walked my dogs???? No, things like that I will put on my blog, and if you like I what I say, you'll comment or not, or ..... what I am saying is I just don't want to make the time those two places would ask for to 'talk' on them. If people want to know what I am doing, they can find me. And if I want to talk, I will, if I don't, I will be silent.... And when I am silent to long, I get emails!!! Make today a great day, and enjoy every second of it!!!

No tweeting for this chickadee. But I don't have a cool phone (and don't plan to). I do FB to keep up with family and keep an eye on the teenage daughter.

Hi Jill, just wanted to let you know you started something. Today eventhough it is so hot, I jump started. I did 4 loads of laundry and hung them out, ate breakfast and lunch all before 10:30 am. Plus hung out on facebook. Got trash together, brought laundry in, cut out and sewed on 2 pair of shorts for my grandaughter, got one finished, then had supper. also went mall walking after supper with my son also.Back on facebook but ready to go back to sewing.

I can barely keep up with emails and blogs so I do not tweet. I have FB but rarely update it. Usually I just check out what my family and friends are up to.

So what did you decide? I haven't used twitter though some times I think it would be easier to update than my facebook.. and well we all know that my blog suffers when I'm not feeling well or am stressed with the navy mess here. We'll see.. still thinking about it.
