Last night and for a bit this morning, I worked on my blocks on the Mystery Quilt BOM. I got the first 3 blocks mostly done before I moved on to something else, but I am considering going back to them because after working on those blocks with the HSTs and flying geese, strip sewing is getting a little boring.
Here are some pictures of my sewing area and my progress on my blocks using my OCD Binder, as Jennifer is calling it. lol
This is my sewing area and you can see that there is plenty of area for the binder and for space to draw lines and trim HSTs as needed.
Block 3.
Block 2.
Apparently, I didn't get a picture of the first block. I had an issue with my Best Press and scorched 1 HST so I need to replace the fabrics when I get home.
I think that this is a great way to organize the blocks for the BOM and I will definitely be doing it again!

Those blocks are lovely! THey will make a beautiful quilt!
That's all you've gotten done? LOL The blocks are gorgeous and I wish I had gotten them...but I actually DID have willpower last year.
I see you Judy blogged about your BOM folder organization!! You're so famous.
The blocks are gorgeous! I'm glad your prep method is working well. It looks like it would work well for at home too.
Your blocks are beautiful! Those are my colors! LOVE LOVE LOVE Them!
Have a great rest of the retreat!!!
I wish I was there, between looking at the pictures you have posted, and the ones Judy has posted, seems like you all are having a good time.
Is that bendable light bright? I bought a little light the other day and returned it because it wasn't bright enough, and I can't find the light you have locally, so before I order the little expensive thing, I wanted you opinion since you have it already.
Have fun and drive safely on your way home.
Your blocks look so beatiful. Bummer about the best press, but hopefully you will have the right fabric at home to make it good as new. You binder seems to be a big hit. I think lots of people will be putting them together when they get home.
I LOVE your BOM notebook! I need to do that. I make up kits in zip lock bags for things but your method would really help me even more!
Oh, and love the doggies. I have a long-haired, miniature Dachshund (Redlin von Snickerdoodle) and she is precious/annoying as you can imagine. Wonderful sewing companion.
OCD people make good quilters! I often put the instructions in a ziplock baggie with the pieces, nothing worse than pulling out a UFO and wonder what you were making!
Very pretty blocks!! Too many HSTs for me but I love how they look in the end!
Great way to organize...and lovely blocks!
I'm not sure how I missed this at the retreat, but what a great idea!
I love the blocks. What fabric line is that again?
I saw your cute mugshot over on Judy's blog. I'm so jealous you guys got to retreat! The BOM book is a great idea! you are so smart :-D
