One of the great things about getting so many quilters in a room to sew is that there are bound to be some jokers and funny ladies to lighten the mood!
On Friday afternoon, Janet, shown second from the left, was walking towards me with these teeth in. At first, I wasn't sure what she was doing. I knew her teeth looked a little odd, but I couldn't tell they were fake until she was a little closer. She held out a container of gummy teeth! When she showed them to Jean, Jean pulled out her wax lips and put them on! Then, we got Joan and Nellie in on the action. What a great photo op!!
On Sunday, Arliss and Nellie came into the sewing room and showed up their big purchases of the weekend - barnyard animal face masks that made sounds. They entertained us for several minutes with the sounds.
This is what the cow one looks like and when you push the button in the noes (or beak for the chicken) it makes the sounds. Very cute!
On Saturday, Karen and I were just finishing up breakfast and watching people file in for the meeting that was being held next to our sewing room. We saw a woman in a period dress and a man in a pirate costume come in the doors. I said to Karen, "Oh look! Ruthie ordered us entertainment!" Luckily, they went into the other meeting room as Karen and I giggled. Well, the pirate ended up wandering into the sewing room and entertained us free of charge while his wife was singing in the other room.
And finally, the gals who sat behind us had this little table set up to hold a small ironing board. I kept looking at it thinking that it looked familiar. Growing up, we had a set of these TV trays and the holder that they stored on. I have no idea what happened to those trays, but what a blast from the past. I was laughing with the ladies about them being vintage. Imagine! Something in my short lifetime is vintage already!!!
You just never know what you will see on a quilt retreat!

Boy I missed the wax teeth. Great pics and so much fun.
I received a set of 4 of the TV trays when we got married in 1981.
Does that make me vintage?
Fun times!!! You make me feel like I was really there! What in the world was the pirate there for??
Sounds like you ladies had a blast!

Too much fun!!! love the pics! Did the pirate and his lady come to lean to quilt when they came to visit!! Come to sing and leave with a new skill!! That looked like alot of fun!!
Looks like a lot of fun was happening. My inlaws had those same tray tables and we used them every time we went over here for dinner! I think we may have had a set too - lol!
