This yarn shop is the closest to me and where I have taken all of my knitting classes. They used to sell fabric as well, but got out of that side of the business and I got some awesome deals on fabric when they clearanced all of it.
A few months ago, I was at one of my sweater classes and Christina announced that her husband got a new job and they were moving to the Columbus area. At the time, she planned on running the shop from the new house and coming down once a week to check on things. And a couple of months ago, she announced her second pregnancy on FB.
Well, I just got a notice from Lambikin's today that due to the move and the second pregnancy that Christina has decided to sell or close the shop. She will be entertaining offers, but it doesn't sound like she has any offers yet.
What a bummer! The shop will still be open in April when the girls are here for the quilt show and the yarn will be discounted for inventory reduction, but what an awful reason for the discount.
I'm totally bummed!

No thoughts of a career change??? ;-)
I really hate that they are having to close or sell. But since they are having to close, maybe you can get some great deals!

I just heard of the store last week. I don't knit or crochet, but I hate it that such a well-known independent retailer is closing.
btw, just posted my PIGS response... enjoy the laugh.
I'm sorry. What a total bummer!
I agree with Regina...time for a career change! Looks like Lois would go into business with you ;)
That sucks! Although it's good for your wallet. ;0)
