Design Wall Monday, 5/3

I got the blocks assembled yesterday for Star Struck yesterday! I was hoping that I would have the top fully assembled, but I was tired after sewing that final seam.

Now, I need to make a decision about which fabric combination to use for the border. I found the pink that I didn't realize I have in my stash. It is part of the line that was used in the rest of the quilt, but I think that it looks a little too peachy for the most part. The brown was ordered specifically for the quilt, but when I held it up to the top, I thought it was a little light compared to most of the browns in the quilt.

So here are my options.

I think that I will be looking at these pictures periodically through the day to see which one strikes my fancy. Any thoughts from readers?

For most of yesterday, I had a helper. Unfortunately, she left the mess for me to clean up when she moved all of the toys out of the way to lay down.

lovely! I like #2, the narrow brown border then the wider pink one, it frames your quilt nicely.

All your border choices are nice, but the #2 really sets the quilt with the dark inner border.

I agree with Ellyn and Chris. I like #2 the best.

Sounds like a long day of sewing for you! Your quilt is turning out to be very lovely. I like border #2.

Oh...this quilt is on my list. It looked like it could really come together quickly. I like either option that has two borders.

I am with the others - I like the narrow dark brown and then the wider pink border best. Nice to have company when you sew even if she is a little messy.

#2 really finishes off the quilt nicely.

What a cute quilt! I like both of the 2-color borders... adds a little pizzaz!

Either of the two-color borders work well. but with any choice, you can't go wrong.

Oh, I like the quilt colors. I like a combo of the brown/pink in the border.

I like the Dark Inner Border, and the Pink outer border. The quilt itself is gorgeous!!!

Why do I always have to be different? I like the pink inner border with the brown on the outside. I think it is because I tend to look at how a quilt will be used and the brown won't show the dirt that seems to come to the edge. But either way, a two color border is the way to go, in my humble opinion.

I like the second one with the thin dark border then the pink :)

I like either double border.

Love this pattern and your fabric choices. Now I want something in pink and brown! I too vote for #2.

So you want it to be fun and playful, then I'd choose #2. More sophisticated? Then #3. IMVHO.

I like #2 too! I don't feel it's peachy at all. It's a fun print too. Great job on your Star Struck!

There is complete agreement that #2 border option should be used. Can't say that I'm not in agreement too. My Star Struck project is at my quilters. I was lucky enough to take a class with BH in January while at Road to California Quilt Show. Sandi

you're right- the pink is a bit peachy... however, either border option with using both the pink and brown would be fine. i love the HST!

I'm going to differ.. I like the small pink and brown on the outside! But.... it all depends on which one YOU like best! Good luck and great progress on the quilt. It is another beautiful one.

Very pretty quilt! What a cute design. I vote for #2, but any of them would be lovely. Beautiful work.

I like option 3 the best - I think the brown frames it really well. It's such a gorgeous quilt - I think I'm heading off to Quiltville to get the pattern.

I like either border that has the small inner border. On my computer, the colors of #2 look the best. It puts some separation of the pink from all the other pinks and red. You are the best judge because you can see it "live and in person"! What did Maisie think? Or was she too busy moving her toys out of her bed?! Silly pup!

I am not going to be very original here. I think #2 is a great option. It really shows the stars off the best. CUTE quilt!

#3 is my favorite, followed by #2. I really like the wide dark brown border. Beautiful quilt!

It's such a pretty quilt. Either 2 or 3 works for me. I think I like #2 slightly more.

WTG JILL another one almost done. If I had to decide I think I would use the brown on the inside and pink on the outside, but you see the real colors and will make the best choice. I am finally going to stop scrapbooking for a short time and go back to sewing. I have to get the stuff finished in 10 days for my grandaughter. She wants more sleep pants with girl scouts stuff on them from me. HAPPY QUILTING....by the way I love your little helper, now if you could teach how to put your toys away to the pups....LOL...

#3 is my pick. peachy-pink inner with the brown outer border. I think it finishes off the quilt nicely. Either of the double borders would work.

I like the third option with skinny pink and wide brown...have you decided yet?
