Year of the PIGS - 5/18

I'm a little late in getting the question up this week. And I am going to do something a little different this week. This post will only be the question and I will answer the question here in a new post in a few days.

Since I have been learning how to coupon and save money, I'd like to know how you save time and money while quilting. Share any and every way that you can. Nothing will be considered silly if it saves either time or money! And you may be doing something that the rest of us have not thought of.

Post your answer on your blog and then link back to your post here. I will draw a winner at the end of the month. If you don't have a blog, leave your answer as a comment on this post and enter your name in Mr Linky as "You Name - COMMENT."

OK - so I am better at saving money than saving time. But now I will be thinking about this the rest of the day... thanks!

The money savers simply flowed from my fingertips -- time savers not so much. But I hope it's because I'm doing things - and have been doing them so long, I don't recognize that I'm saving time by doing it. Did that make any sense?

Jill you might have the best ways to save time since you get so much done. For me I try to have everything ready to go when I am ready to sew. I try to cut everything before I start sewing. I sew as much as I can before pressing. Press then go back to sewing more. If I am working on 2 projects at the same time, I use one for l/e for the other one and press all at same time. To save money lately I only buy stuff when it is on sale. Special sales, birthday sales, or birthday discounts. Plus I found a quilt store in Ky near our farm that sells quilt quality cottons for a lot less than up here. I got 108" wide for 5.99 or 6.99 yard. The 44/45 was 2, 3, or 4 a yard. I hope to take a list of stuff I need the next time I go down there so I can stock up. The fabrics are about a year behind there than it is up here, but at that savings I dont care. Happy Quilting
