My poor girlie!!

Yesterday morning, Maisy gave me a scare. Here she is on Tuesday night. Since Max was being a turd and not holding still, I snapped a shot of her.

When we got up on Tuesday, I didn't initially notice that there was anything wrong, but she flinched when I put the harness over her head and that was odd. When we came back inside, I noticed that the side of her face was swollen and her eye was being pushed up her head.

She also didn't eat a lot which is not normal for her. I called the vet and they said to bring her in. By the time I was ready about 10 minutes later, this is what she looked like.

The vet said that she doesn't have conjunctivitis because there is no puss or discharge. He looked for bite marks, but didn't find any. The best that we can tell is that she got bit or had a reaction to something. We got eye drops and prednisone. She was very happy to get back home to Maxie and he was excited to see her back after being left behind.

I was hoping that she would be all better when I got home from work last night, but she still has some swelling. And after being awake for about 20 or 30 minutes, her third eyelid stops retracting fully and is visible. But her appetite is back so she must be on the mend!

Here she is from this morning. Hopefully, she is on the mend and will be all better very soon!

Poor Maisy! I hope her eye is back to normal soon!! It did look a little less swollen in the last picture so hopefully the meds are working.

Poor baby, that happened to Bailey when she was a puppy, but her whole face swelled up it was awful! Vet said must have been a bee that stung her and being so little could have been fatal had I not taken her in......hope she feels better soon...I know how scary that is!

Awww, I hate it when they're hurting. Please give her a gentle hug and kiss from Penny and me! And keep us posted on her progress. We're worrying, you know!

Aww...it's so awful when our pets are ailing - and they can't tell us what hurts or what happened. Hoping she's better soon!

I hope she heals quickly. I know how much we worry when one of our 'babies' is feeling poorly.

I hope she is back to herself very quickly for you. It is very difficult when our fur babies are not feeling well. Hugs to you and her.

What a scare! It always terrifies me when one of my pups won't eat. I'm glad she's doing better and hope she is fully recovered soon.

Hope Maisy mends quickly and you've recovered from the scare.
