Last night on my way home from work, I stopped at the JoAnn's that is really close to me and is closing very soon. There is going to be a Super JoAnn's opening that is going to be just as close and they are consolidating the stores. I have been in the one that is closing a few times since the closing was announced, but the discount was still only about 40%. Not that great since I could get that on just about anything with a coupon at other stores.
Just for a little history, here is what my thread holder looks like since the renovations have been complete. Full!
Last night, the thread was discounted 75%! And there was still a good amount of Gutermann's so I stocked up! I got a few spools of hand quilting thread to start using in my bindings. Most of the bigger spools are the hand quilting. The rest is just for various other things that I might need the colors for.
What I was really looking for was zippers. They were 50% off. I picked up a few and will probably check back in a week to see what the discount is then.
I'm pretty excited about the deals I got!! But now I have to find something to do with the thread. :-D
I also stopped at WalMart and picked up a couple of things. When I got home, I started doing a bit of clean up in the house. Max was a little anxious so he had to sit in his rocking chair to feel better. He is stretching to smell something from outside.

Good shopping!!
You did good! I need to stock up on some more hand quilting thread. I only have 2 spools. I could use a green for my next binding project.
Good buy on the thread! It seems much easier to find good deals on fabric than on notions. I don't blame you for jumping right on it.
What great deals! Looks as though I will be able to start crafting with you again as I no longer have a job. All depends on how I feel.. Smiles.. Hoping to kick up the blog again
Great deals!
Just love shopping for deals. What a great excuse to stock up.
looks like i need to stop in there soon, thanks for the info
you can never have too much thread... right?
Great buy! Wonder if that will happen when our store moves to the other side of town? Fingers crossed.
