Weekend Progress

I was pretty productive last weekend. I got the 2 sets of Take Along bags and tool caddies finished that have been cut out since May-ish.

I also made my first 4 patch for the SIS quilt. Strip pieced of course and the rest of the strips are already sewn together, pressed and ready to be cut into the pieces to make the 4 patches.

Once the 4 patches are done, I think the rest of the blocks will be pretty quick to assemble.

Sunday, I spent the afternoon and evening working with the rest of my committee on the Guild Opportunity quilt. I told them that I had posted the picture of the fabric so I think that I can share now that the fabrics below are for our quilt. We got all of the fabric cut and block packets assembled so that we can pass them out at the meeting in October. I'm very excited for this project!

Last night, I interviewed for an open Board position on my homeowner's association. I was on the Board before but things have changed since them and I am still leery about being on the Board. I hope it will work out and not cause a lot of extra stress for me.

And since I have been joining things lately, I volunteered this morning to work at 3 local walks for various causes - juvenile diabetes, leukemia and lymphoma and breast cancer. And last night, I agreed to walk in a 5K in November with my neighbor, Kim. Aaron has helped me with a lot of things around here and he started a group called Miles Away to help raise money for Wounded Warriors who help wounded vets. Aaron is going to be running in the 5K, but I will walk with his girlfriend, Kim.

Tomorrow night is the Modern Quilt Guild meeting. I will probably take my socks and work on those a little. I'm making great progress on them!

And here are the pups enjoying their new nap spots.

Looks like you are going to be one busy lady! Good luck on getting the board position!

Lots of sewing and cutting going on at your house! You seem to be enjoying your new studio.

Speaking of knitting socks....I bought some knitting needles, stitch guage, and all of that stuff the other day. I haven't even opened them up yet! LOL! Hopefully after things slow down some I can learn to knit! :)

Wow Jill you are going to be one busy lady but for good causes. One of the pups looks like it has a smile on its face. Sounds like your new sewing area is working out well for you.

Great to see you sewing again!! Look at you volunteering for all kinds of stuff. Just don't commit to too much that you don't have time for yourself.
