I picked up the new dog last night. She is very sweet, but neither Max nor Maisy is taken with her. Not even a little bit. She is bigger than both of the pups and she is following me around quite closely so I am sure they are not really happy about that either.
Her name is Lucy Lu and I was trying to call her Lula or Lulu, but she knows Lucy. When I get frustrated with her, that is what she answers to.
She definitely knows how to chew on some toys.
See how tall she is? And she is longer than both pups. I think they are intimidated by her.
Her and Max did play a little, but it was a lot of jumping back and forth at each other. Very little actual contact.
And she is still in heat. I think that the only thing the pups like about her is that she is leaking her scent all over. All I can say about that is EW!!
Things are still up in the air right now. If Max and Maisy don't like her, then I will have to find her another place. M&M come first, you know.

Well, she looks healthy!! We had the same thing, got a dog for Buddy from the pound, she came to us in heat (supposedly fixed, but NOT)...at first he tolerated her, but then he started to snarl, etc. So we rehomed her to a friend's elderly parents, they renamed her and she lives a spoiled pampered life with them. It will all work out in the end!!
Keep us updated....
Love the past picture - they look like they are having fun. Hope it all works out!
I love my doxies, but it definitely takes them awhile to get acquainted, just be sure you don't seem to favor one over the other & give it some time. She looks like a sweetie pie.
It'll take a couple days, but I'm sure M&M will warm up to Lucy.
I hope it all works out for you .. they look very sweet together.
awww Jill, they will work it out...TRUST ME!! If my three diva dogs finally adjusted to the little man we rescued...yours will too!! It was rough for a couple of weeks, and now, it is as if he has always been here!! Good Luck!!
Give them a few days - the new girl is in heat, giving off an odor the others are not sure about, she is in a new situation and everyone is on edge. Let them sniff each other out ( figure of speech, but they will.....) and let them get to know each other.
I agree, the first two come first, and if things go bad, no kidding that she would have to go - but give them a chance to adjust. You never know, she just might fit right in!!
I hope so anyway. Good luck with the new additon!!
good luck with the newest addition! Sounds like things are going pretty good so far.
