Quilting finished!

In order to get the not started yet Dresden Plate quilted, I needed to finish the quilt that was on the frame.

I am calling this the Diamond quilt for Ariel. I still have a lot of threads to bury. My machine was acting persnickety!

I used a very light tan Connecting Threads Essentials on the top and a light grey Bottom Line for the bobbin.

I quilted a medium stippled over the entire quilt except for the diamonds so that they will pop just a little.

And Ariel put a lot of work into the backing as well!

I still have the bury the threads, but that can wait until I need a break from my Dresden Plates. :)

Nice job! I'm sure the customer will appreciate all the time it takes to do that kind of quilting....I'm impressed that you bury all your threads! You go, girl!

The stipple looks as good as it always does - hope you've been able to make some progress on the Dresden today.

While I HATE burying threads, I have found a fantabulous tutorial. It was a game-changer for me. Seriously. With over 100 starts and stops for me to bury with this last one, the tute was a lifesaver! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3gl4K8Z7XM.

So -- how do you stop and start? Do you pull up the bobbin thread, and just start, then knot and bury them later? Or do you pull up the bobbin thread and then do a few stitches in place before you get going? It seems like lots of quilters do the latter, but I'm still on the fence about it. :)

Lovely quilting, by the way! :)
