Date night

Well, here I am ready for my date tonight. I thought that you might get a kick out of seeing me all gussied up! We went to Applebee's for dinner and then saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Not a typical first date movie. And by not typical, I mean full frontal MALE nudity, but the movie was pretty funny and I enjoyed it.

Once I got home, I decided to put together my design wall. Here are the supplies - 2 tri-fold foam-core presentation boards, batting, flannel, expandable curtain rods, large binder clips and hot glue.

I glued the batting to the boards and then glued the flannel to the boards and wrapped the flannel around to the outside so that it would hold it in place a little better. I trimmed the top and bottom of the batting so that it would be fairly even with the top and bottom of the presentation boards, but I didn't secure the flannel to the back at the top and bottom so that I could fold them up when I need to put them away. Once this was done to both of the boards, I laid them face down with the top of one lined up with the bottom of the other and clipped the curtain rods to the back. Now, I have a 48 X 72 design board.

Here is it in use. These are my blocks for the comfort quilt. Right now, I have all of the rows assembled and I just need to sew the rows to each other and add the borders. Hopefully, that won't take forever like the borders on the Stash Pot Pie quilt did.

Well, Best Friends Quilt Shoppe is having a sale today and I am meeting Maddy at noon to shop and then we are going to IHOP for food. I can't wait! I am not sure that there is anything that I need, but that hasn't stopped me before! :)

What a great design wall and I absolutely love the quilt on it. We thought of you when we were having pie yesterday and figured you were getting ready for the big night. You've got to come and see my great new table with the recessed machine in it. It rocks.

You know, I've seen it in person and I STILL don't get where the curtain rods come into place! It does look cool though. Ohhh, had you lived near by, I would have had the perfect jewelry to go with that outfit!
