Last night, I was trying to get my frame and machine back in working order. For some reason, the machine had come off the tracks since the last time I used it about 2 months ago. Sunday night, I got everything back in order and cleaned and oiled (apparently, some did not like the other word used in the previous post - I'm not naming names here.... *giggle*) the machine and left it to settle for a day. Monday, I tried to start sewing and the tension was way off and the bobbin thread kept breaking. I realized that the connector for the cruise control had come out of the wheel that it sits in. I have no idea how this could have happened because this connector was not easy to insert into the wheel in the first place. After struggling for a few minutes, the connector was in and it was back to the front of the machine to sew. I flipped the switch. Nothing happened.
Apparently in the struggles to get the connector back into the wheel and all of the times that the machine was off track, this happened.
The little black piece that is off to the right side is supposed to be attached to the circuit board. This is where the power cord is supposed to plug into hence the nothing happening.
I was so upset about this, I nearly made myself sick. Just ask Jen because she called me to try and calm me down and walk me through a fix. Nothing would work.
Now, I can't use the machine and frame until I get this fixed and because of the holiday this week (I hope) I haven't been able to get a response from the company about fixing the problem or replacing the bad part. And on top of this not knowing, I needed to have a quilt quilted by tomorrow so that I could hand stitch the binding down this weekend because the quilt is a going away present for my boss whose last day is 12/5. Luckily, I was able to sweet talk my very dear friend Patrice into quilting it for me and I was able to drop the quilt off with her tonight.
On the bright side, since I can't quilt anything, I don't have to worry about how to spend my time this weekend - piecing or quilting.... At least that problem has been solved! :)
Oh, and I got a new toy tonight. A BlackBerry Pearl 8130 cell phone. It's my Christmas present to myself. Well, this and maybe the part to the quilt frame set up. But back to the phone.... It's PINK!!!
Very cute and oh so stylish! Now, I am just spending time getting acquainted with it and programming my numbers in.
