September is National Sewing Month!!
The observance of National Sewing Month began in 1982 with a proclamation from President Ronald Regan declaring September as National Sewing Month “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.” Taken from the National Sewing Month website.

The site is also showing that the mantra for this year is "Reuse, Remake, Restyle" and considering all of the goings on in blogland and the yahoo groups that I belong to, I think this is a great mantra. I always had a feeling that 2009 was the year of making do with what you have and buying new only when necessary.
Go and check out the site! There is a contest that fits in with the Reuse, Remake and Restyle theme and I know of a couple of gals that could probably win this! :)
