JMQ - Step 1 DONE!

Judy Martin Quilt Step 1 - Collect all fabrics!!

I thought that this step would take longer than it has! I think that I started collecting fabrics in November and I bought the last of what I needed for the top and the binding on Sunday!

As I stated in this post, I am doing the Finger Lakes Log Cabin from the Judy Martin's Log Cabin Quilt book. I'm really happy with the fabric choices that I have made, especially the light blue for the accent color. It has little dot swirls all over it!

And now onto the next step... Cutting! Just to give you an idea of this pattern, the logs are cut at 1 1/2" pieces! Of this light blue that I like so much, I have to have 1304 1.5" by 1.5" pieces. Yikes!!

I better get started! My stash report is going to love this!

I love that quilt. I must get around to getting that book. Your fabric choices are great. You have a big job ahead of you with the cutting, but it will be worth it in the end. I think for a quilt like this I would have to alternate cutting with piecing rather than doing all of the cutting up front.
