Design Wall Monday, 10/11

Sunday was a very productive day for me! Although, I didn't work on anything specifically for the quilt retreat, I made great progress on the Black and White blocks and got a charity quilt bound. WOO HOO!!

Here is as far as I got the black and white blocks. The center is assembled!

The blocks were a little fussy, but the seams all look pretty good and I think that the effect of the 'ribbons' is fantastic! I have decided on my borders and will cut the inner border and get it attached so that I don't have to worry about messing with the block parts anymore.

As I was deciding about the inner border, I pulled out one of the charity quilts that I quilted a couple of months ago and attached the binding. Woo hoo! Now, I only have 3 left to finish!

In between assembling the rows on the black and white quilt, the pups and I went to Granma's for dinner. My aunt and cousin did a lot of the cooking and we had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner - the whole nine yards - and it was wonderful!! The pups got wild and crazy when we walked in and by the time we got home, they were both recovering!

Maisy was in worse shape, I think. And for those who might be wondering, yes, she got herself under the sheet this way. :)

That is one dramatic quilt and is very pretty. Thanksgiving sounds so good! Can't wait until our day is here. Cute lil pup you have there.

I agree. The ribbons are fantastic.

Yep, the b&w is amazing and stunning and dramatic... was it just the value layout that was 'fussy' ? From this end, it looks like time well spent!!

Jill love your black and white quilt in progress. And the dog getting under the bed sheet is too funny.

The ribbons do stand out marvelously with your color choices, good for you! Striking quilt. I'll be hosting our Thanksgiving as usual next month. It's my favorite holiday. My mouth is watering thinking of the pumpkin pie :)

Your black and white is mesmerizing. Is it a pattern? And your puppies are wonderful. I have one like them and she is so funny and loving and sleeps under a sheet and quilt every night.

Ohhhh...the puppies are all wore out! Aren't they cute when they are all cuddled up in the quilt/bed? Nice job on the quilt...

As snug as a bug in a rug! Like the B&W top. Are you using a third color for the border to break it up a bit?

JILL GREAT JOB FINISHING ANOTHER CHARITY QUILT. THE BALCK AND WHITE QUILT IS LOOKING GOOD. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW YOU BORDER IT. I LOVE MAIZY UNDER THE SHEET. I HAD A CAT THAT USE TO DO THAT, BUT SHE WOULD LAY HER HEAD ON THE PILLOW ALSO. HAPPY QUILTING. I CAN'T WORK ON ANY OF MINE, MY PETAL STARTED SPARKING ON THE CORD. I CAN'T FIND A BREAK IN THE COVERING, BUT I AM AFRAID TO USE IT :(((

The quilt is stunning! Good job for Maisy - our dachshund would always crawl under the sheets too - they must like the burrowing!

You're on a roll girl! So much accomplished. I love the black and white quilt - so stunning. Isn't funny how doxies just love to sleep under covers. Weasley sleeps opposite of Maisy - head and shoulders covered, butt bared to the world - lol!

It is so good to see the black and white quilt come together. The effect of the blocks together is really striking.
