What a weekend!! I got fabric cut and busted! I worked on a couple of quilt tops and I got 1 top completely finished! Woo hoo!!
This quilt is a UFO from 2009. I had all of the star blocks made in 2009 and then they sat for a while. I worked on the Irish Chain setting blocks at retreat until I ran out of the brown sashing pieces. On Saturday, I cut the rest of the sashing strips and assembled the center of the quilt. On Sunday, I cut out all of the borders and the binding and put them on the quilt.
The beauty of this is that now that I have the first one finished, the second one should be pretty quick to assemble, too! AND!! I will have backing to bust this week!
This is Maxie admiring the top! lol

Goodness, you *were* busy this weekend!! Love the chocolate and blues in your 2009 UFO! Way to go! :)
A busy girl indeed! I love that stripe fabric that you used on the inner border! Very nice quilt!
Your little dogs crack me up! I miss my little Aggie, she was small like your Max. She has been gone for years but I think of her everytime that I see a photo of yours.

Love the quilt, isn't it extra satisfying to get a UFO done!
I like your quilt top. The colors are perfect with the blocks, having the strip fabric tying it all together. Just fabulous.
Looks like you used your time wisely. And aren't you proud of yourself? I love seeing a top come together and see it done. Each part of the process has it's successes so it isn't just the end product but it is the journey. Love it.
That turquoise and brown is heavenly!
I absolutely love your colors. I really am drawn to browns, especially with teal or pink.
Love this - the colors are great!
Beautiful quilt!! I LOVE the teal and brown together!!!
Your quilt is really stunning, especially the wonderful striped fabric you've used...really spices it up. I have some blocks marinating for, well, let's just say longer than yours, that might benefit from the addition of a striped fabric ;)
It looks great! Are you keeping this one?
I love that combination of brown and aqua. Just beautiful! Well done!
Love the colors, and better yet, finishing a UFO!!! Could you come to my house? I need a kick in the rear to get a few of those done myself!! Happy Monday, and Happy sewing! :)
I LOVE those colors! I've got a quilt in my head with those same colors..well I've got the material and the pattern...but that's just the same as having it done...isn't it?! :) Actually I am having trouble understanding the pattern so it will be a while till it gets done!
Great job!! nice finish.
Nice colors! Another one for the "To Quilt" pile!
Beautiful quilt top! I have a couple UFO's if you run out of things to do. Maxie looks like she is into some serious 'destroy the toy' time - lol!
MAXIE IS JUST SO CUTE...
Very nice quilt. Like the brown/blue color combo.
You must be reading my mind. I was just debating whether or not to make some Irish Chain blocks to put some sampler blocks together with. You may have just talked me into it. Congratulations on crossing a UFO off the list. It is getting to the time of year when finishing sounds better than starting.
Congrats on finishing up this top...it's fabulous! Love the colour combination...and layout!
I love the chocolate and teal/blue combination in your quilt. The purple wool looks great too.
Woohoo - so pretty! I love having a sneak preview of what my kit will look like....once I finish it LOL!
I bought it for Scotts mom - are you keeping yours??
HOLLLLLAAAAA!
really love that teal. That was a BOM right? What fabric line?
