Warehouse goodies!

I ended up with 2 bags stuffed to overflowing from the sale, but when Victoria took her bags out of the trunk she freed one of mine up. We ended up looking through all of our bags to share what we scored and I had to repack them in the 3 bags that I had.

Maisy was excited to see everything.

I laid everything out on the floor to show it off. The fabric to the left and in the middle are what we were calling "hanks" - it looks like there were layers and layers of fabric stacked and cut by a machine and the leftover ends were in the sale. Still in piles and easy to grab and stuff into bags.

I grabbed this kit as one of my last things while I was in line. This is the full kit - binding and backing included. I really grabbed it because of the floral fabric that is on the bottom of the stack - it's brown with blue, red and orange - and is the border and backing fabric.

The pattern is on the right with a picture of the colorway that I bought on the left.

Soft back books were $1 and hard back books were $3. Some lady got the last Stellar Quilts by Judy Martin... I should've offered to pay her for it! lol I got these two - the feathers are for me and the Scrap Basket Sensations is for Regina who hadn't picked up a copy yet.

And a better look at the "hanks." I got this which is a nice neutral. I believe that most of the pieces are at least a quarter yard.

And you can see that the layers of fabric is thicker than 1 of my fingers.

A couple hanks of greens, pinks, browns and tans.

I was on the lookout for some colors for Regina. I almost feel like everything that I got fit her list and that I didn't shop for me at all! lol  Brights on the right and reds, teals and browns on the left. The stuff on the left had cows and pigs on a few of the prints.

In all, I had right around 30 pounds of fabric and the 2 books. At less than $3 a pound, it was a steal!!! And Jean swears that if I buy it by the pound, I don't have to report it on the stash report! I think that this is a great idea considering that 1 pound of fabric is about 4 yards... ugh!! lol

Maisy got wore out just by seeing all that I got!

I guess that I left Ohio at the wrong time. Do they have this sale every year? If they do I must plan my visit to my Mother around it. The fabric and books look great and what a deal.

Oh. My. HECK! What a haul. Four yards to a pound? Really? I am not going to weigh my stash then. There must be more there than I suspect.

I do so wish I could have been there. It sounds like so much fun.

I am already plotting my strategy for next year's sale. I need to get over to the hanks after the books, dive into one of the yarn bins and then grow two more arms to carry all the loot. Do you think it is too much if I bring a handtruck to managr the books?

WOW JILL, YOU ALWAYS FIND THE BEST SALES TO GO TO, WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE. THEN AGAIN, WITH ALL THOSE PEOPLE, DID ANYONE PUSH, PULL, AND GRAB STUFF OUT OF OTHERS HANDS? WHEN I WAS A KID A SEWING FACTORY USE TO DUMP THEIR LEFT OVER FABRICS, BUTTONS, THREADS, ETC WHERE PEOPLE COULD GO GET IT FREE. THEN SOME PEOPLE GOT GREEDY AND STARTING FIGHTING OVER THE BIGGER STUFF SO THEY COULD SELL IT. THE FACTORY STARTING BURNING THEN PUTTING IT IN THE TRASH SO NO ONE COULD GET IT. WHAT A SHAME BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE WERE USING IT TO MAKE QUILTS TO STAY WARM IN THE WINTER SINCE THEY STILL HAD FOOD BURNING STOVES TO HEAT THE HOUSES WITH. GREAT DEALS YOU GOT THERE GIRL

Lucky duck!! I think yardage per lb varies by quality but I've most often read 3 1/2 to 4 yards PER LB. It's a good thing it doesn't count for your stash report (*wink wink*).
