Goals for the new year?

Judy posted earlier this week about the 2012 UFO Challenge and I am torn. I can't decide whether I should make up a list or just bypass it this year.

The last couple of years, I have set crafty goals for myself. In 2010, I made an effort to stick by the list, but fell short on a few. I made more realistic goals for 2011, but in looking at the list, there were shortfalls here as well.

I know that I will have some extra work thrown into the mix in 2012 with the Quiltmaker's Scrap Squad sewing. And I am hoping to have an announcement next week sometime with other news that could potentially cut into my  personal quilting time.

Maybe I am talking myself out of making any goals for next year....

What about you, dear reader? Will you be making any crafty goals for yourself for the new year? Do share!!

I think I will note 12 for 2012, not sure if all will be UFO's or just in my heads. I have purposed to quilt 12 for Quilts of Valor, I have two tops ready to go after the holidays and looking for help on the rest.

I've been very anti-goal but made a list in 2011. I'm kind of glad that I did, even though I didn't accomplish everything. I'm not the type to beat myself up or feel bad about it though and the list was very doable. I think you need to figure out what is best for you. And if you feel guilty by not accomplishing everything, dont make one! This is supposed to be FUN!

Jill, I never make 'goals' or resolutions. I guess my only 'goal' is to try and get into the sewing room a bit whenever time allows and have fun playing with fabrics. Good luck and hope the news next week is good news!

I am trying to get some things finished in 2012 that are really close already. If I don't get to them oh well and if I do I will be very happy. I hope making a list will help and not make me stressed. Sounds like in 2012 is a year of other commitments for you. Don't make a list.

I have set a few goals for myself this year and may or may not publish them on my blog. I didn't do well at all with my 2011 UFO Challenge...so that's why there are only a few goals this year.

I will definitely have annual goals again, but not sure about the UFO challenge...not sure I have 12 I really want to work on!

No goals for me this year! I'm going to stick with the old..."Sew what I want, when I want" attitude. LOL! Seems like everytime that I set a quilting goal, it just makes it feel like work and I don't like the feeling of having to do it.

I think we need to rename it to 2012 Plans or Suggestions instead of Goals. Although really goals doesn't mean you HAVE to finish them. You did much better than me this year.
