Design Wall Monday - 5/14

I got the flags made this week for the Doodle Bugs quilt. I did stress for a few days about a typo (or several) in the pattern and I thought that I was going to be short on the background fabric by about a yard. But as I started to cut the fabric that I needed, I realized that the count on the pattern was incorrect. I was never so happy to have a pattern be incorrect!

Here is the layout for the quilt. I just need to start sewing the parts together for final assembly.

And I was also worried about how to quilt this, but the picture in the book shows the quilt quilted with wavy lines just in the background and maybe some details quilted in the cars and wheels. I will probably just go that route.

For those who are interested, the book is called Doodle Bugs by Annette Ornelas.

The pups don't look very impressed, but I think it's because I interrupted a cleaning session. lol

The doodle bugs are super cute. Those pups look like they are asking for a quilt just as cute :)

So adorable, and pattern mistakes can be anxiety provoking!! Glad it all worked out.

What mistakes?!!? Looks great to me. Now get the top sewn together so the pups can keep cleaning.

The Doodle Bugs are so cute. We had a series of VW Bugs early on in our marriage. Small cars.

Happy that you didn't find yourself with not enough fabric. Usually I'd find that out when trying to use older fabric and not the slightest clue as to where to get more. Cute designs! Sandi

So glad for you that the pattern was WRONG! I know that happens from time to time but it is still very stressing. It looks great! I think that is a great idea for quilting it. I do find that "boy" quilts can be harder to decide on a quilting design.
