I can't believe that I have reached 200 posts! How exciting! I know that other people have done something special for their 200th posts. I guess that I could, too. I will put a little gift pack together and pick a winner this week.
To enter, post a link to my blog and the giveaway in your blog and then post a comment on my blog. I will have to go through some of my patterns and fabric and see what I can come up with. I will post a picture within the next day or two.
Let's say do this by Thursday at 9 PM Eastern time and I will pick a winner. And I will be checking your blogs for a link. :)
Happy 200th post to me!! :D
Now, onto other important matters.... Items for the April 2008 St Jude Quilt Retreat!
There were more deliveries today!
There were 5 envelopes - some were bigger than others.
This is from Quilting Made Easy which is the company that makes Borders on a Roll. I saw that Jen had used this at one time to put some really cool borders on a quilt for her Granma so I made sure that I included them when I sent my letters for donation requests. They sent a $10 gift certificate and a catalog. I had not looked at their products and I am hoping that I get this! even if I don't, I think that I will be ordering something because the borders they show look so cool!
Fons and Porter sent a free 1-year sub scription to their Love of Quilting Magazine. They sent one last year, also, and it's what made me order a subscription. :)
Gathering Friends is a quilt shop that also puts out patterns and books. I think that I got their name from a book at a local quilt shop. They sent two of their books and after looking through them, there are definitely quilts that I could make from each. They are very cute!
And when I stopped at Aunt Ruth's Scrapbasket to pick up my prize, the owner gave me a couple of packs of fabric for kid sized quilts. The fabric is very cute. And Aunt Ruth's is becoming one of my favorite shops in the area. Corey just bought the store in December and I have only been in about 4 times and she already knows my name and welcomes me by name. Quite a change! (Note: the website hasn't been updated in about a year, but Corey said that it is on her list to be doing that and newsletters. But you can get their store information from the site.)
Now, I did get a response from a company that will remain nameless. They denied my request for a donation and their reasoning was a little strange. They don't 'accept unsolicited donation requests.' They also give customer service contact information in case I have questions. I am guessing that I need to call and ask how I can get on the list to send a solicited donation request? Do companies send out letters asking people if they have donations that they need? Does this make sense to anyone?? And this is not a small potatoes company. This is a large, large company. Help?

Wow, nice stuff - if I was closer, I'd definitely plan to go.
About that nameless turn-down - I'd definitely contact customer service, if this is something that you do on a recurring basis, to find out if they *ever* make donations, and what you might need to do to "qualify."
The "jelly beans" from the earlier post are really cute. I'm a sucker for mixed scraps and ALWAYS buy one of those mystery remnant bags when I have the chance.
Okay...how do I post a link on my blog to your blog? Here is my post to enter me in the contest...How did you know it was your 200th post? Is there an easy way to tell? I know I am full of questions today.
I also wanted to share what nice gifts companies are sending for your St. Jude's Retreat.
You're posted on my blog -now you make me want to go in and count how many posts I have done myself.
That "solicited" vs. "unsolicited" donations seems strange... I would contact customer service anyway - never hurts to ask again, or ask someone else. Looks like you are doing great with it all though - glad you are posting the pics, then I can drool! Too bad I cannot come to the retreat!
ok - ironically my blog post for your 200th was my 100th! Maybe I will go back and edit and do a giveaway myself.
Hi Jill! Go over to my blogsite and you will see that your link. Thanks for the great instructions
Okay that last message didn't make any sense...Mark was talking to me and I should have re-read before I hit send. Anyways the link is on my blog if you want to check it out. Thanks for the great instructions.
I posted a link on my blog and would you believe it was my 199th post? I've got one more to go. I think I'll have to do a giveaway too. I love the Best Friends books. I was at their quilt shop in MN 2 years ago and it was by far my favorite quilt shop. I have their Blackberry book and have done quite a few out of it. They do some amazing designs.
How did I miss this post before today? I must have been having brain cramps again. I have them a lot....LOL Congrats on your 200th post. I always enjoy reading your blog. Here's the link to my post about your post.....

Oh yeah, I'' try. Rantalarags.blogspot.com
contact customer service, you might need to send them an advertisement or more information about your fundraising efforts / gift bags.. I used to do fundraising at school, and I know that large companies get asked all the time, so they need a bit more than a letter..
Congrats on 200 posts!
As I said on my blog, way to go, Jill!
