Design Wall Monday, 4/18

Yesterday, I was able to get the flamingo quilt assembled while enjoying a TV and some fresh air! I was going to start working on the Maxine quilt which is going to be the same design, but thought I would just give up on sewing for the day.

This is based on a design that the quilt shop I used to work at used all the time to the point that I wondered if they would ever move past it to anything more creative. It's a good pattern to use for panels, but not much else.

This quilt is for my mom in Florida and I am sure that her little dogs will get some use out of it. So Maxie had a message for them!

I don't know if this was an "I'm on your quilt" message or an "I have toys that squeak" message. I think either would be appropriate. :-D

Very nice! Good use of a large-scale print, something I always struggle with.

I think Max is saying "I'm on your quilt AND I have a squeaky toy." So there! He does remember the FL patio and then returning home to the cold!

Love it. That's a great pattern for charity quilts. Pick up some cute prints and you're half way there. Thanks for sharing a great idea.

As simple as the pattern is, I like it. It could show off big scale prints that you don't want to cut into very nicely.

What great fabrics and I love this pattern for a quilt top. It would give a ton of space for quilting. I need to make one of these.

Very cute! My 4 doxies would be fighting to get underneath it and claiming as their own. I agree with what Vicki said, lots of space for quilting.

cute way to show off a pannel. I cheat and do a small inner border and a 6 in outer and call it done.

Yay for you getting it done so fast! I think Max is hinting that he'll trade the squeaky for the quilt!

It was a great quilt to show off prints that you didnt want to cut up or use a main focal point. The company that made that book it came out of dicontinued it. I made two for my grandkids with fabircs to showcase in their rooms. one in horses and the other in sports. great size for bunk beds. it doesnt hang to far down on the top bunk and looks like it was designed for that. love this one and cant wait to see the other one. i think someone is trying to tel you they want that quilt.
