It’s that time again! I have a lot to get done before the Holidays and time seems to be slipping away. I need to post my list of things to do and start posting a progress report a couple of times a week. At this point, I am not sure if I can even rank what I have to do in order of importance. Ugh!
- Bento Box quilt – needs to be quilted, labeled and bound. I know that this will be the easiest top to quilt, but I just haven’t made the time to load it on the frame and get started on it.
- Meghan's quilt – needs to be quilted, labeled and bound.
- black, white and red quilt - needs to be quilted, labeled and bound.
- Orientals quilt - needs to be quilted, labeled and bound.
- Granma’s quilt – I am still in the assembly phase of this one. I need to get my strip sets cut and then I can make the 9 patches. Then, I can assemble the quilt and put it in the To Be Quilted pile.
- The Super Secret Quilt – This whole thing is just a pile of folded fabric right now. The fabric still needs to be starched per our rules of the challenge before I can even begin to make the blocks.
- Mug Rug for Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild challenge – I saw the mug last night that I have to make the rug for and I have pretty much free rein. But I still need to come up with an idea and make the rug by December 7 for the next meeting.
That list is of all the things that HAVE to be done in December at some time. It would be nice to get a couple of them done in November, but I really am not going to hold my breath.
On top of all of this, I have things from my 2010 Goals that are still hovering….
- Use scraps and crumbs – I may be able to do a little of this if I can get my butt in gear and start on the Midget Mania Blocks. But with the list above, can you see why I have yet to start those blocks?
- Make a project using appliqué – I was planning on the Which Witch wall hangings, or at least one of them, to fill this void. If I make 1 block with the dress, shoes, legs and ruffle, would that count? J
- Make 12 charity quilts – I have flannels paired up for a few more quilts and could easily quilt 3 of them up to round out this goal, but I will have to find the time to quilt them. And then there is the binding of them once they are quilted.
- Complete the granny square afghan – the squares are made. I just have to crochet them into the afghan and crochet a border. Easier said than done?
- Knit 12 baby caps – well, I am at 4. I doubt that I will knit 8 more in roughly 7 weeks. I have shared my baby yarn stash with my granma and bought new skeins for her and her senior group friends and I know that many caps were made. I think I am going to mark this one off by default.
- Finish bear cross stitch – I doubt this will get done. My heart is just not in the cross stitch anymore. Time to go through the stash and get rid of what I can.
- Get rid of stamping stuff – I have made great progress on this, but I could definitely re-list what is left on Craigslist and try to get rid of it by Christmas. Although, meeting people to sell it could really cut into my sewing/quilting time. And so would updating my list of what I still have!
And things that I really WANT to do….
- Start Midget Mania Blocks
- Make Witch wall hangings
- Work on the 2009 Mystery blocks
- Cut the kit for the Paris in the Fall BOM
- Make a bag for my mom
- Knit on my Two at a Time socks
Oh, I’m sure the list could go on and on!
And now I am thinking about what I will do once I post this… Probably knit on my socks! Bwah ha ha ha
Seriously, I will have to make up a list of things to try and get done this weekend and then make myself work on them. I have no idea why I keep putting myself into corners like this! Send help! :)

JILL I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. I HAVE A LOT I WANT TO COMPLETE BEFORE CHIRSTMAS AND I DONT KNOW IF I WILL GET IT DONE. I DO THIS EVERY YEAR FOR CHIRSTMAS AND GRANDKIDS BIRTHDAYS. I ALWAYS PLAN FOR MORE THAN I WORK ON.....GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR GOALS YOU SEEM TO DO BETTER THAN I DO.....
What to do, what to do? Everything on your list is fabulous, but picking one and getting it done is always the hard part. Good luck with the decision making, I always end up neglecting the "need to do" list in favor of the "want to do" list. It makes me feels so much better that it isn't just me with too many projects on the list.
Sounds like you have alot that just needs to be quilted and bound. Those are pretty fast! I can't wait to see your mug rug! I have seen them all around blogs and flickr...very cute!! I know that yours will be sweet!
Yikes!!! Is that ALL you have to do? Good luck. You better get busy!
WOW-WEE GIRLY!!! What a list! I'm sure you will get alot of it done. I know you, once you start quilting....you go at it like a crazy woman!!! Hehehehe!

Don't forget about Sibling Revelry!!! ;-P Hopefully you will be in the mood to "dance with the frame" soon - that's a lot of tops to be quilted!
That is quite a list! Why not do a "need", then a "want", then another "need", etc, and take the knitting to work on during lunch at work. Look at me, being all organised, on someone else's behalf. Pity I can't do the same for myself isn't it?
Oh and plan a clear day tomorrow to join in the Christmas Quiltalong on my blog.
I'm falling short of my 2010 goals, but that's okay. I've got a lot on my plate.
how was last night's meeting? I'm bummed I missed it.
I agree with the alternating on the 'need' and 'want' list. But hey, did you really mean for 'this' Christmas... could always wait for next year!
That's a lot of lists! Hope you're making the progress you want to make and having some fun along the way too.
If I had just a fraction of your energy, I would be doing good....sigh.....keep up the good work. I know you will get it all done!
Girl - you are list crazy!! I don't know if they are helping you or stressing you LOL.
I agree with the need to and want to.
Also - I'm thinking they said that the mugs should be brought back in December but we didn't need the rug til the Jan meeting....hummmm, will have to double check that :)
HOLLLLLLAAAAA!
Just catching up. Man that is a big list. My to dos are all on paper right now.
