Stash Report Week 12, 2011

Or as I am calling it this week, The Best Laid Plans....

Last week, I showed the great new fabrics that I got for quilts for my mom and a family friend. I figured that I would have them all cut on Sunday after I finished sewing my pieces for the Star Struck quilt. Well, sewing on the Star Struck pieces took literally all day!

And it is taking even longer to get the pieces pressed. It this point, I will call the UFO finished for the time being if I can get the blocks all pressed!

This week, I spent most of my non-working time cleaning and decluttering the house. After dusting the first level and cleaning the oven yesterday, I feel like I am making good progress to have everything done in time for the guests for the Quilt Show in less than 3 weeks. And feeling like I was in a good place, I took a long nap! Then, I sewed!

I got the rows assembled and pressed for the Split Decision. I might actually be able to get the rows sewn together some time today.

And the only other thing that I did this week that was quilty was pick up a quilt to quilt for a gal in the Modern Quilt Guild. I am trying out a new design so I prepped some fabric for a Project Linus quilt and I am going to throw the PL quilt on the frame this morning and then load the other quilt after that. I'm excited about trying this new design! Once I get the PL quilt done, I believe that it will be a bust and should be almost 2 yards if not a little more.

And hopefully, this will be a better week for me since I'm not feeling as overwhelmed by the condo and cleaning!

It always takes longer than I think it will to finish up a project, no matter what stage I'm at.

Darn you making progress on that split decision! LOL Hope you're able to get the machine fixed quickly so you can get quilting. Looking forward to the visit in a few weeks!

Oooo...can't wait to see the Star Struck done up in reds!!!!

Split Decision is making nice progress. Are those 2.5"x4.5" bricks?

Way to stay in the black with your report.

Wow, you got alot done! I plan on doing the Split Decision in April when I go to retreat. Yours looks great! I'm doing mine in scraps and I think/hope it will look ok. I want to do a Star Struck too and hopefully I can get that one done on retreat too. Have a good week and pet the pups for me.

Sometimes when I find I have a daunting pile of blocks to press, I will "force" myself to press them while I'm making other blocks that are more "enjoyable". I'll tell myself for every new block I make, I have to press 5 of the blocks that are a "pain". While it takes many more days to press the blocks, I don't feel like all I'm doing is pressing blocks and I feel more motivated to get it done.

You may not have busted any stash, but you DID make progress on your current projects.

I can't believe Max didn't scarf that up before you could take the picture!

Looks like you have accomplished a lot! I think sometimes that pressing can be a little overwhelming when there are so many pieces.
