Book Review Thursday - 11/1

Only one book for this week. But I will definitely have 2 for next week. I am almost done with the 2 that I am reading right now. :)

Dearly Devoted Dexter is the second Dexter novel in Jeff Lindsay's series. Dexter is being followed by Sergeant Doakes from the police force and he has had to curtail the Dark Passenger for the time being to prevent discovery of his secret. To pass the time, Dexter starts spending more time with his girlfriend and her two kids and is almost ready to slip into domesticity. Thank goodness for the Dark Passenger that a body is discovered that draws Doakes' attention away from Dexter and onto an old Army buddy.

I find this series intriguing. In spite of the sociopathic tendencies of Dexter, it is easy to root for him to succeed in both his serial killing and the solving of the murders. The writing is relatively light and easy to follow and there is a fair amount of humor through it all. I'm ready to start the next book in the series.
