Quilt #12 - Quilt of Valor

I LOVE the Square Spiral panto!! It quilted up so nicely on this Quilt of Valor quilt! Some service person or veteran is going to LOVE this quilt!

Square Spiral Panto, So Fine in a light tan and silver Bottom Line for the bobbin.

And I have decided to start Judy L's newest Quilt Along quilt, but I need fabric for it. I am planning a trip to Fabric Shack! I am also making a list of quilts that I need in the next year for weddings, college quilts, etc so that I can possibly shop for those, too. I am getting excited about starting another new quilt.

Loaded Tonight

The first two quilts on the new frame were quilted with a poly batting and I think that it caused some issues with the thread and breakage. I am going to quilt one more charity quilt for the Guild using Warm & Natural to see if that takes care of the problem.

I still plan to head to the quilt shop on Saturday to get the attachment to make using spools a little easier. Hopefully, I can get this one quilted with too many issues tomorrow night and then load up a customer quilt after that!

First quilt finished!

I have had this quilt for my Guild's Kids Komforts charity for a while and just never got around to quilting it. The guild collects quilts and assembles tops and pairs with backings to make quilts. Many of the members chip in to help finish the quilts and they go to local hospitals and charities for kids to have them.

I think that this is an I Spy quilt. I used a really cheap cone of cream for the top and a light yellow Bottom Line for the bobbin. I had some issues with thread breakage. But with 2 and a partial passes to finish the entire thing, I could handle a couple of thread breaks.

Having the amount of quilting space is definitely going to take some getting used to! It is awesome!

I think it's back...

My quilting mojo, that is!

Tonight was a guild meeting with Ami Simms as our speaker. Her lecture was pretty funny and she is someone that I would recommend going to see talk.

Before guild, I stopped at Joann's and got a couple of yards of an extra wide fabric for the backing for the second Scrap Squad. I am going to get that quilt loaded and quilted this week so that I can start on the next one!

When I got home, I decided that I had time to press the pieces that I got stitched last night. I just have 1 more flag section to assemble the center of and then I put borders on the sections to make the flags. After that, I assemble the quilt and it is all downhill from there!

And instead of starting on the third flag unit, I worked on the next Midget block for tomorrow's post. I have 1 more section to paper piece and then I can assemble the block and post it!
